See COM:MONEY#Denmark. Any of these items that has a design first introduced to the public after December 31, 1940 remains in copyright and is a derivative work. Magog the Ogre (talk) 06:23, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
- Well, the design of File:Denmark - Faroe Islands - 5 ore 1941.jpg was first introduced in 1926, so that one precedes the 1940 limit. Alfons Åberg (talk) 00:16, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- Great. By any chance, do you have a source for that? It will make it easier on us to decide to keep it. Magog the Ogre (talk) 00:48, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- In addition, I see this one is from the Faroe Islands; do they have different copyright laws than mainland Denmark? Magog the Ogre (talk) 00:53, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- This particular type of coin was first minted in 1926 (source: w:Standard Catalog of World Coins 23rd (1996) edition, p. 597). This was a Danish coin, not specifically for the Faroe Islands - thus, Danish copyright law would be applicable. However, during World War II, the 1941 dated coin was minted in London. (In other words, the coin itself was presumably a copyright violation - ha!). I don't know anything about copyright in the Faroe Islands, but that does not seem to be relevant anyway.
