Images of the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace of Yamoussoukro

[edit]

No freedom of panorama in the Ivory Coast, note also this similar nomination. Furthermore, we should not be categorising based on this building, as the building itself is copyrighted. That would be like categorising based on a copyrighted painting, because we had some images that showed the painting in the background. J Milburn (talk) 19:55, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete OK. Make sense to me. Alberto Fernandez Fernandez (talk) 07:24, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Delete the lot. The basilica was only built in 1989 and there's no FOP. --Simonxag (talk) 10:34, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Delete unfortunately due to FOP issues. --Leoboudv (talk) 03:49, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Keep That country allows filming architectural works, and a movie is nothing but a series of moving images. Extracting a single frame would make it a copyvio under this analysis. It is necessary to check what is actually allowed in IC. I would prefer interpretation of the aforementioned law in the way of rule a maiorem ad minus. If moovie is allowed, much more a single picture is allowed. So KEEP and CHECK.--Qasinka (talk) 14:21, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
"Works of art, including works of architecture, permanently located in a public place may be reproduced and made available to the public by means of cinematography or television." Is a photograph on a website cinematography or television? No. Laws generally don't make much sense (anyone with a basic grasp of political philosophy realises that...); we have to live with the fact, sadly. It would be good to know ivorycostan judicature on the section 34. Since the plain interpretation of the legal text is not allways the proper one. Courts use often logical interpretation rules (as the a maiorem ad minus is) in order to give the laws a sense.--Qasinka (talk) 14:38, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And secondly - what is moyen de la cinématographie? A photo is often used in moovies (e. g. zoomed in or out). Isn't it a "mean"?--Qasinka (talk) 14:45, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not a lawyer or a linguist. I'm going off what our policy pages say. J Milburn (talk) 17:26, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Policy pages on France do cite the respective judicature. The same is necessary for IC.--Qasinka (talk) 15:41, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted, those 4 images, the other 2 are de minimis. Kameraad Pjotr 20:20, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
