Images by Hujadila

[edit]

Hujadila (talk · contribs) has uploaded a very large number of images, all of which are claimed to be the uploader's own work, including several which I found to be obvious copyright violations (including Image:Carlos gamarra.jpg taken from Getty Images[1], Image:CHILAVERT.jpg from George Herringshaw/Sporting-Heroes.net as stated by the conveniently cropped-out watermark, and Image:Jose-luis-chilavert6.jpg, which appears in higher resolution on other sites[2][3][4]).

The metadata of those images that have it indicates that the photos which the uploader claims to have created were taken using at least 16 different cameras in addition to a Noritsu S2 Film Scanner. Here are the user's uploads that have metadata, listed in chronological order by the date they were photographed:

11 July 2004: Canon PowerShot A200 (P&S)

4 September 2004: Canon PowerShot A75 (P&S)

28 January 2005: Sony Cybershot (could be any number of Sony cameras)

Scanned 29 January 2005: Noritsu S2 Film Scanner

Scanned 10 April 2005: Noritsu S2 Film Scanner (continued)

10 July 2005: Canon PowerShot A95 (P&S)

22 October 2005: Nikon D1H (professional DSLR, would be quite a step up from the cheap point-and-shoot cameras)

15 March 2006: Canon PowerShot A200 (back again; this would be quite a regression, especially from the Nikon, but also from the newer point-and-shoot cameras)

1 April 2006: Sony DSC-F828 (compact zoom)

9 January 2007 at 07:24: Panasonic DMC-FX01 (P&S; would be quite a downgrade from the Sony)

9 January 2007 at 18:16: Olympus FE100/X710 (another P&S in the evening)

16 May 2007: Canon EOS 20D (DSLR)

15 July 2007: Pentax Optio E10 (P&S; would be quite a downgrade from the Canon)

27 July 2006: Canon PowerShot A80 (P&S)

7 September 2007: HP Photosmart E217 (P&S)

Uploaded 9 November 2007: Panasonic Z7 (either a DMC-LZ7 point and shoot or a DMC-FZ7 compact zoom; does not report actual time of photo)

2 December 2007: Panasonic DMC-LS2 (P&S)

30 December 2007: Panasonic DMC-FZ8 (compact zoom)

31 December 2007: Panasonic DMC-FZ8 (continued)

6 January 2008: Panasonic DMC-FZ8 (continued)

Uploaded 10 February 2008: Olympus X100/D540Z/C310Z (a point and shoot with many names; does not report actual time of photo)

17 May 2008: Panasonic DMC-FZ8 (again)

It's not unthinkable that the uploader is the copyright holder of some of the images, but given the above, I don't think their claims hold much credibility. I believe all of the user's uploads, including those not listed above, should be deleted. LX (talk, contribs) 19:37, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For the sake of completeness, the list of uploads not already mentioned above is as follows: Image:Ib Hoyo 1 arreglado.jpg, Image:Calle en villa florida.jpg, Image:Desfile caballeria Villa Florida.jpg, Image:Iglesia san bernardino 2.jpg, Image:Puente de Villa Florida Paraguay.jpg, Image:Iglesia Yaguaron 008.jpg, Image:Carapegua-panorama de la entrada.jpg, Image:Aregua 2.JPG, Image:Aregua 4.JPG, Image:Aregua 5.JPG, Image:Trenes de aregua.JPG, Image:Ñacunday panorama.jpg, Image:Ñacunday panoramico desde abajo.jpg, Image:Nacunday-amplio.jpg, Image:Amanecer en laguna blanca.jpg, Image:Amanecer en laguna blanca largo.jpg, Image:Dunas de san luis 2.jpg, Image:Expo santa rita.jpg, Image:Asociacion japonesa de yguazu.jpg, Image:Vista panoramica de la playa de laguna blanca.JPG, Image:Juan cancio barreto.jpg, Image:Berta y juan cancio en new york.jpg, Image:Helio vera.jpg, Image:Iglesia isla umbú.jpg, Image:Cabildo isla umbu.jpg, Image:Museo 1.jpg, Image:Museo isla umbú.jpg, Image:Arte sacro isla umbú.jpg, Image:Luis Szaran.jpg, Image:Lszaran.jpg, Image:Sonidos de mi tierra2.JPG, Image:Carlos antonio lópez.jpg, Image:Augusto roa.jpg, Image:Augusto roa 2.jpg, Image:Roa bastos-300.JPG, Image:Carlos gamarra2.jpg, Image:Chilax2.jpg, Image:Tati jupi - Paseo en carro.JPG, Image:Mapa u2.jpg, Image:Carapa14.jpg, Image:En lancha.jpg, Image:Papagayo.jpg, Image:Tapir y tapircito.jpg, Image:Tigre.jpg, Image:Casa de lopez.jpg, Image:Foto3lopez.jpg, Image:Yacaré.jpg and Image:Tagua 1.png. I present my excuses for the copyrighted photos that I have no exact knowledge of origin. I am the coordinator of a working group to put information of Paraguay in "Wikipedia". On the list are many pictures we have taken, but we also have an agreement with other people linked to media that I have gone for me to upload the photos.

You deleted 3 photos quite rightly, I realize that they have been copied elsewhere.

However, 80% of the photos that are on the list are in my group, and we have taken with different cameras.

I know understand this situation, and I'm going to be much more careful when it comes to receive and publish them. In addition I will make a review of other photos that I charged and delete those that do not correspond.

But allow me to continue our project smoothly.

I am available for clarification

Finaly, i personaly took all the photos with Panasonic DMC-FZ8, Canon Powershots A200, A75, A80 and Olimpus. People of my workgroup used Sony Cybershots, DSC, HP, Celulars, Samsung and other i do not remember now.

Thanks

Falsely claiming to be the author or copyright holder of other people's work is a violation of copyright laws. It appears you have claimed to be the author and copyright holder of works created by others, including (according to your statements) works created by "members of your working group" in addition to images from commercial sources.
For images created by members of your group or other people who have given their permission for the work to be used in modified or unmodified form by anyone for any purpose (commercial or noncommercial), those people need to be identified as authors and copyright holders to comply with the licensing tags you have applied to the images and to respect copyright laws. When uploading other people's work, you need to provide evidence that they approved the licensing terms. See Commons:Email templates for how to request permission and Commons:OTRS for instructions on how to archive obtained permissions.
We cannot host images which violate copyright laws, so if 20% of your uploads are copyright violations, and you cannot credibly identify which 20%, we have to delete them all. It's not good enough that most of them are okay. Please read and understand Commons:Licensing before making further uploads. LX (talk, contribs) 20:41, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Images uploaded since the start of this discussion

The following uploads made after the initial report should also be considered in the scope of this discussion:

25 March 2008: Pentax Optio M20 (P&S)

26 March 2008: Pentax Optio M20 (continued)

3 April 2008: Pentax Optio M20 (continued)

And the following images without metadata: Image:Refugios y reservas alto paraná.jpg (broken JPEG), Image:Refugios y reservas alto parana.jpg. LX (talk, contribs) 21:02, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the help.
I was reviewing all photos. I have 110 photographs as a contribution of which 93 are mine and 17 are what I have to verify.
I recognize that the error was made with an idea of helping in some articles that had no photos. I will verify the 17, consult with and delete those that do not have license.
Reading Commons:Licensing#OK, I hope that the photos made by me, dealing with nature, animals and images of generic cities of Paraguay could stay.
LX also mentions the latest photos. These are pictures of nature made and loaded for me.
Thanks to this setback I'm learning to be more careful with the photos that I upload, to avoid troubles later.
I request that you enable me to continue working on this project

I'd urge you to promptly present a credible clarification of the authorship and licensing status, including permission information. You've had two weeks to do so, and if it's not done very soon, we really have no option but to delete the files. LX (talk, contribs) 16:33, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We sincerely believe that it would be inappropriate to delete all the photos that I put over a year of work.
All photos taken with the Panasonic DMC-FZ8 cameras, Canon PowerShot A200 and Canon PowerShot A75 are mine.
90% of the photos deal with photos of nature and landscape, which is explained in Commons:Licensing#OK. These were taken by personnel of a working group that our company is working actively with articles on Wikipedia, which I am the only one that usually adds photos. I hope you can help to meet the requirements and not to delete the photos.
I am working with the Wiki in Spanish, with about 100 articles, and I think it would be quite unfair to me delete the photos from those articles.
The pictures that require a license and that and I asked, are as follows:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Luis_Szaran.jpg
http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imagen:Lszaran.jpg… because they were extracted from the author's own page and its authorization was requested date 15/05/08
Please visit some articles like Villa Florida or Tatí Yupí to see our photos. Thanks

Today, we receive an autorization for the photos of Szarán via Email (in spanish) from Luis Szaran. How can i document it ?
--Hujadila 21:40, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
See Commons:OTRS. Again, you also need to correct the information on images where you've falsely claimed to be the author and/or copyright holder. LX (talk, contribs) 10:40, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted. (all images here + Image:Pesca-dorado.png) A valid permission decumented in OTRS is needed, but not given (contradictory statements). The uploader was notified several times and had really time enough. Please send a permission to COM:OTRS and then your image can be undeleted.
