With reference to all of these images uploaded by GabrielVelasquez and now nominated for deletion by the same user, see http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:GabrielVelasquez&oldid=28287642 (which he's now blanked). Apparently he was banned on en-wiki and is trying to get all his images removed; he's now changed his story at least once about why they should be removed. - Jmabel ! talk 22:46, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Idiot, I am not banned at wikipedia, get your sorry ass story straight. It's obvious I can edit as I like there: WHY would they ban me after I retired. Just another reason not to take these fools sites seriously, anyone can say any falsehood claiming it's true. - GabrielVelasquez (talk) 22:26, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't gone through all of these deletion requests but since this person is now saying he did not have the right to do what he did, the images ought to be deleted as copyright violations. It is not a question of whether a licence can be revoked. He can't grant rights over an image he doesn't have the right to give. It is also quite clear that he purported to have that right when he uploaded them. Saying he used the wrong template could account for one or two uploads, but not all of these. Since he has admitted his own copyright violation, his admission ought to be taken at face value. I am unfamiliar with the process but surely if someone uploads images and purports to grant licences he has no right to grant, his user privileges should be reviewed. --KenWalker (talk) 23:07, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Once the images I added are removed I don't plan to upload or edit here at all any more. I'm remaining here only to see them deleted. GabrielVelasquez (talk) 22:53, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete All the images he says are copyvios. Either he is honest, in which case they are copyvios, or he is not honest, in which case we should not believe any of his claims to be the creator or copyright holder of images. --Simonxag (talk) 21:22, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Keep If we take the above tactic, anyone can get their files deleted at any time. Since no one has made a credible claim that they're copyvios, I see no reason to delete them.--Prosfilaes (talk) 02:48, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately that is true: anyone could use this tactic, but anyone would not. We don't assume good faith to the same extent that the Wikipedia does, but ultimately we do rely on people telling the truth. Even OTRS relies on the truthfullness of the claims made by email. Assuming these copyvio claims are false only leads to a strong suspicion that they are true. --Simonxag (talk) 11:06, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
They're absurd on the face of them; he's talking about a camera in non-photographic pictures. If he wants to point us to the originals of these works, it would be trivial then to verify his claim. I just seriously hate rewarding people who act badly enough with what they want.--Prosfilaes (talk) 18:45, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Converted from a speedy by uploader User:GabrielVelasquez for "Actually, I don't even own a camera, I borrowed this image which really belongs to ELIZABETH RYCKACZESKI and according to her is a COPYRIGHT VIOLATION. I assured her I would have them removed/purged/deleted, and she doesn't have to call her lawyer brother." to rfd by me. --GabrielVelasquez (talk) 00:38, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

this data should be represented as, well, data, not a jpeg picture of a table. Plrk (talk) 13:14, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comment It is used on a talk page, in a discussion. Could be moved to enwp and deleted here. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 19:26, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Would this be a copyvio of Excel or whatever program is used, since it is a screenshot? Scapler (talk) 19:56, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, it contains very little of the program user interface (only column and row numbers), the content and formating of the cells are decided by the user. Sv1xv (talk) 04:42, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Keep Since it is actually used, it should be kept. It shouldn't be moved to enwp as it is actually free. I don't think it is a copyvio of the program used as no distinct features of any spreadsheet application is shown (and the features shown are surely PD-simple) Plrk (talk) 11:11, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
But the image is not educationally useful. Its only use is in that particular discussion on enwp. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 11:52, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's more use than can be argued for most images on commons, I'd say. But then again, it is an archived discussion over long ago - deleting it wouldn't hurt, either. Plrk (talk) 13:45, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Camera? This isn't a photo. If you're going to lie, at least put some effort into it. Also, en:Wikipedia:No legal threats. LX (talk, contribs) 16:16, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Delete - This is a copyright violation, whether you like it or not. You have a policy that says you have to respect copyright laws, mentioning those laws is not a legal threat, what a dumb comment. Lulu989 (talk) 04:41, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
