- My "Mamoru Miyano" photo and "Toshinobu Kubota" photos are screenshots. The "Mamoru Miyano" and "Adam Joseph" photo were taken with my digital camera, and the two "Toshinobu Kubota" pictures were captured with a cellphone. Please do not falsely accuse my work just because you "think" it is a screenshot. Sysmithfan (talk) 05:34, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- And for the record, you would have to be completely naive to think that File:MamoruMiyanoperforming2012.jpg and File:Adam Joseph performing1.jpg is a screenshot. If I upload a photo and said it is my work, then that is truth, no matter what you think. Stop challenging my work. Because it is a huge waste of everyone's time. Sysmithfan (talk) 05:36, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- What do you mean by "screenshots" in the above response? Are the screenshots from video you shot with those cameras you mentioned? --Closeapple (talk) 06:57, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- NO! I do not mean that ("screenshots"). Being honest, only the "Cedella Marley" and "Sharon Marley" pictures were taken from videos. The rest of the pictures were taken by me from digital camera. How in the world does it look like a screenshot! Again, complete idiocy. If you can not tell the difference between a regular picture and screenshot picture, you should probably go back to school. Because "look like screenshots" is not a very judge of "what is" and "what isn't". Sysmithfan (talk) 15:54, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- Also, for those who may be "completely naive" and "should go back to school": If you are the original photographer of File:MamoruMiyanoperforming2012.jpg (a 313×470 image), how did multiple websites obtain the same photo 6 months before your upload here, including at least 3 are larger than your upload? --Closeapple (talk) 20:23, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- I have no idea how that got there or where they got it. Only members within my company have access to this picture. Furthermore, I only uploaded the picture here on Wikipedia. Sysmithfan (talk) 00:10, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

- Delete All. Having recently requested speedy deletion of a couple of images uploaded by Sysmithfan over on English Wikipedia, which were revealed to be copyright violations despite being marked as the uploader's "own work", unfortunately all uploads by this user must be viewed with suspicion. Comments by Sysmithfan above and also in response to questions by an EN Wiki admin (see en:User talk:Sphilbrick) suggest that the editor has only a vague understanding of copyright and does not appreciate that uploading copyright screenshots is unacceptable. --DAJF (talk) 23:06, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- Why are you here? No matter what, you can not stop following edits. During my discussion with Sphilbrick, I said that using different licenses can be confusing. I never said I did know how to use them or understand them. User:DAJF, for the second time, stop following my edits. You are Wiki-hounding me. Stop it! You are taking part in a debate that does not concern you. My uploads do not need to be reviewed. Sysmithfan (talk) 02:15, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
- Why am I here? Maybe because the Toshinobu Kubota images were on my watchlist ever since I raised my concerns with you about their possibly being copyvio screenshots several months ago. As a long-time Commons user and uploader, problems concerning suspected copyright violations very much concern me. And from what I have seen and read so far, all of your uploads do indeed require scrutiny by other editors. --DAJF (talk) 06:39, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
- You need to find someone else to harrass. The images that were not mine, were erased (with exception of NatalieStewart.jpg). That is it. The rest of the photos that I have claimed as my own work, is my own work. Now let's jump off topic for a moment. You can nick and pick about how I do not follow the rules, "as he is does not always have a firm grasp of Wikipedia policies and procedures (e.g. removing AfD templates, uploading copyright images), and gets agitated when this is pointed out to him.", but I truth is...I do. But is very tedious how you find your own way to this discussion without being notified and decide input your own say-so into this discussion. It is time for you leave me alone because I am buying your story, "While Sysmithfan may like to believe I spend all my time on Wikipedia following his edits, I have over 12,000 articles currently on my watch list - mostly on Japan-related subjects - and also watch the "New articles" page on the WikiProject Japan, so I am going to look at edits that add suspect material to articles regardless of who the editor is." Yes, you may have add several other articles to your watchlist, but when I make an edit, you are always quick to act and find something wrong with it. Leave me alone and hounding. This discussion page is not for you. Sysmithfan (talk) 06:52, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
- Note Sysmithfan has now been indefinitely blocked on English Wikipedia due to copyright problems.Kww (talk) 15:16, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
- Delete all. The biggest suspicion I had was with the first file, but after seeing the response, the whole set is questionable at best. Commons:Project scope/Precautionary principle is that when there is significant doubt about the copyright of the file, we err on the side of deletion. Maybe Sysmithfan is confused about Commons:Derivative works (which applies to all works, not just on Wikipedia and Commons). If a person shoots a video, then they own the copyright; if someone else takes a frame from that video, it is still the videographer that owns the copyright to the frame/screenshot, not the person that extracted the frame. This also applies to crops and resizes of photographs — or, for that matter, almost any work that is derived from another work. It is definitely a problem that Sysmithfan has a smaller version of a photo, for which there are at least 3 higher-quality versions out on the web, and Sysmithfan can't explain how they obtained a higher-resolution copy than the alleged copyright holder has. All the other files are of odd, smaller resolutions also. The knee-jerk responses that everyone else either is there to "harass" or is "completely naive" and "should go back to school" for identifying obvious red flags, and the uploader being blocked on another project for more of the same, pretty much douses any confidence in the uploader's willingness to provide enough proof to overcome the issues. --Closeapple (talk) 01:01, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
