As in Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Reichshandbuch der deutschen Gesellschaft: These are all pictures taken from a German Who's Who (the Reichshandbuch der deutschen Gesellschaft) that was published in 1930. They are all claimed to be in the PD, but no authors are named. Images from 1930 are not old enough to assume that they must be in the PD, since the authors easily could have lived beyond 1947. So the files should be deleted per the precautionary principle. And no, you cannot keep them with the Anonymous-EU tag. "I don't know the author" is not anonymous, and that tag isn't applicable to German works anyway, since German law says that pre-1995 anonymous works are only really anonymous if the author was never publicly disclosed anywhere, not even in a lecture or similar. One cannot prove that, so pre-1995 "anonymous" works from Germany are not suitable for Commons (or de.wp).

These are 3 photographs taken from German books and magazines published in 1930 or 1932. They are all claimed to be in the PD, but no authors are named. Images from 1930 / 1932 are not old enough to assume that they must be in the PD, since the authors easily could have lived beyond 1947. So the files should be deleted per the precautionary principle. And no, you cannot keep them with the Anonymous-EU tag. "I don't know the author" or "The publication I took the image from does not name the author" is not anonymous, and that tag isn't applicable to German works anyway, since German law says that pre-1995 anonymous works are only really anonymous if the author was never publicly disclosed anywhere, not even in a lecture or similar. One cannot prove that, so pre-1995 "anonymous" works from Germany are not suitable for Commons (or de.wp).
