French FOP problems of PIERRE ANDRE LECLERCQ (talk · contribs)

[edit]

These photos are derivative of architecture/sculpture/signage in France. They appear too modern to be {{PD-old-70}} and do not appear de minimis to me. France's freedom of panorama exemptions are insufficient for Commons. Some of these files may qualify for transfer to a local wikipedia. Note: I requested in April that this user curate his photos and made him aware of FOP rules, but he seems to have declined to address the problem. Storkk (talk) 14:42, 16 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Clearly modern

  • English: Hello Storkk I find your singular request to delete files on the giant "Epona". This giant was designed and conceived by myself and my friends managers association (LCR des Prés) of Villeneuve d'Ascq. The realization was entrusted to a plastic, we paid, and who did nothing intellectual property. I have the rest written an article about this giant. Epona (procession of giant).

is a photographic montage by me to make a poster for the association (LCR des Prés) of Villeneuve d'Ascq ". I returned to my wiki article as "picture-desc Epona" giant of the area (LCR des Prés) of Villeneuve d'Ascq. Best regards.--Pierre André (talk) 15:38, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Havang(nl): you have asserted a number of files depict works that are PD-old, but you have not asserted a single death date or author identity. For a building erected in e.g. 1910, why do you think it is PD-old? Storkk (talk) 14:36, 16 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't know what information User:Havang(nl) has access to, but assuming an average life time of 80 years and assuming that a building can be made at any time during the architect's lifetime, I'd expect that somewhere around half of all buildings from 1910 are PD-old-70. It may be better to nominate photos of such buildings separately so that the discussion is simplified if some architects are identified. --Stefan2 (talk) 15:18, 16 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • If more than a couple architects are identified, I will consider splitting the DR. If only a few architects are identified but they are post-1945 deaths, I will add the files to the appropriate Undelete in... categories manually. Storkk (talk) 15:29, 16 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy close. There are far too many images nominated here, many of which don't need to be deleted IMO (see above, I looked at the first 30 images and already many of them I deem acceptable). These images should be nominated separately or in smaller batches. --P 1 9 9   19:13, 30 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@P199: FWIW, I strongly disagree with your "DM" arguments above... the photographs are clearly of the architecture, meaning they cannot be COM:DM (see criteria 6/7). Storkk (talk) 08:32, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, some may be borderline like File:Hautes-Pyrénées, La Mongie.jpg, but others are clearly not (like File:La Mongie.- La Chapelle Notre-Dame de La Mongie.jpg). --P 1 9 9   19:26, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy close. There are far too many images nominated here, that can't be reviewed properly against the various criteria. These images should be nominated separately or in smaller batches. --P 1 9 9   19:22, 30 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@P199: I find it hard to believe you are seriously suggesting ~400 separate nominations, especially considering that would likely break the uploader's talk page. Secondly, this is obviously not a "speedy" close candidate. Storkk (talk) 08:29, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Granted, ~400 separate nominations are also overwhelming, but looking at the various comments already posted above, there are numerous files that should not be deleted but now risk being deleted as a part of this mass nomination. OK, I will try to review the list above over the next few days. --P 1 9 9   19:26, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: files with obvious FoP issues, kept about 125 files. If you feel some of them still should be deleted, please create separate DRs. Next time please don't create an unmanagable DR like this. --Jcb (talk) 16:52, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
