[edit]These ca. 1925 to 1955 (or in one case undated) German photographs are claimed to be in the PD, but no authors are named. Photographs from that time are not old enough to assume that the photograph must be in the PD, since the photographer easily could have lived beyond 1947. For photographs from 1949 or 1955, that is obviously the case. So the files should be deleted per the precautionary principle.

- I agree, I seem to have fucked-up the age calculation there. Would’ve been too good. Thanks for checking :-) I’ll look at whether I find other reasons to keep some of the images anyway, but don’t intend to disagree about their deletion:
- 180, 179, 175, 157, 156, 154, 107, 34, 16, 8: Here
Stadtarchiv Heidelberg
(city archive Heidelberg) is given as source. If I’m not missing something, that means they are assuming those images to be in the public domain, or they could not have been printed in the book. I might be wrong there though, and it might be better to delete them anyway as a precaution. I don’t think we can actually follow that reasoning though, would allow for several more interesting images on Commons :-) - 107: It’s definitly between 1913 (construction of the tram, didn’t take that into account before) and 1933 (removal of that level crossing), which means it’s more likely it’s not old enough.
- 41: The traffic sign in the background was first created in the 1930s, which I didn’t notice and assumed the image to be older because of differences from other images. With this, it’s not old enough for the simple PD assumption. Since a collection is given as source, the reasoning from the "Stadtarchiv Heidelberg" images also applies here.
- 38, 19, 9: The same author is also given at File:VKHD-5.jpg from 1896. Must’ve been an old person then. Not sure if that’s sufficient, though.
- 8: Appears to be a police photo. Was there some law in the past to make that PD as government work? (I don’t think so, though.)
- 7: I was about to also refer to the archive reasoning here, but on third thought it seems likely to be the author’s heir. Without a death date it isn’t old enough anyway.
- 180, 179, 175, 157, 156, 154, 107, 34, 16, 8: Here
- Seems like I’m in favor of deleting as nominated for all of them. Btw: A different name for the deletion discussion (i. e. files in category) might’ve been better, but idc. --Nenntmichruhigip (talk) 16:04, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- Files uploaded by XYZ is VisualFileChange's standard title for a deletion request if working from a contributions list. I'll try to change it to something else the next time I'm requesting deletion of some of your uploads ;-)
- 180, 179, 175, 157, 156, 154, 107, 34, 16, 8: The city archive is where they got the images from, that doesn't necessarily mean the images are in any way public domain or made by any authorities. City archives usually collect what they can get if relevant to them, they often don't care about copyright.
- 38, 19, 9: I'm not sure that's the author, sounds more like a collection.
- 8: No, German police photos are not automatically in the PD in Germany, nor were they in the past. Unfortunately. --Rosenzweig τ 20:19, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
