No indication of user's own work on these outer space images which must have originally come from somewhere else because few individuals own the type of telescopes or satellite telescopes used to create these images originally.

This is an original piece created by KuriousGeorge. Please see this link...

I am just responding my 2 cents on this part "...because few individuals own the type of telescopes or satellite telescopes used to create these images originally." I seriously suggest the person who wrote that, reads up on modern astrophotography. Lots of people own telescopes nowadays that, together with a DSLR-camera and some post-processing software like PixInsight, they can make images like these or even better/sharper, for a total budget of maybe $5000 to $10.000 It's still a somewhat specialist and not very cheap hobby of course, requiring a good dosis of skill and excercise. The specifics of which are a little more complicated than I explain them here... But it is becoming more and more widespread and it really isn't true anymore that only proffesional observatories or even Hubble can produce such images. You can find such images all around the internet, like astronomy and astrophotography Facebook groups specifically about the subject. It is noteworthy that everytime amateur astrophotographers post their work on mediums with a more general reading public, for instance on the Astronomy or Astrophotography subreddits, they get bombarded with these same comments: "This can not possibly be your own work." Turn out, yes it can. Source: I am an active volunteer at an observatory and know plenty of people who own such telescopes and cameras, and who make such images on a very frequent basis. You can find them all around the internet, for instance in the places I mentioned. Greetings, RagingR2 (talk) 11:56, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

So... to cut a long story short: the user KuriousGeorge uploaded the image and did provide the info (as required) that this is his own work. As far as I can see the only problem here is that someone read that info and didn't believe him. And decided to nominate the image for deletion because of that. Needless to say, I vote *against*. Actually, the work looked too good, and I was concerned about the copyright of it. Now that there's a clear statement of own work  I withdraw my nomination. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ellin Beltz (talk • contribs) 20:31, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: withdrawn by nominator. --Sealle (talk) 10:02, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
