These were uploaded by me - I misunderstood the flickr-to-commons upload bot. I will re-upload all the photos in the next week using a different template that will include more information including categories and better names- these will then all be duplicates!

  • Keep. The request as worded does not seem to be a reason for deletion. The uploader could request deletion as recent uploads if the files had been uploaded by mistake and they should not be on Commons. But the uploader writes that he/she would reupload duplicates. Uploading duplicates sounds like a bad idea. Any additions to the information can be done on the present files, with the help of tools or bots if necessary. E.g. adding categories, including Category:Photographs by Ben van Meerendonk, and crediting the author with the already existing creator template (the copyright owner requests attribution to the photographer [1], not to the copyright owner). Why want to change the filenames? They seem accurate and they include the original names provided by the copyright owner, which is a good thing, and they are in the same format as the other files of the same source already uploaded to Commons by other users. I don't know if the uploader's plan to use "a different template" is useful, but in any case that too can be done on the present files. In short, I don't know why someone would want to delete the files and reupload duplicates of the same files. If there's a convincing reason that I'm missing, which is possible, please explain in more detail. -- Asclepias (talk) 20:47, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
