No FoP in Russia for non-architectural art.

No image transfer to Russian Wikipedia will be possible until the end of the WLM-2018 jury process (first decade of November). Since the author of this deletion request is an admin at Russian Wikipedia, I assume he is able to transfer the files himself. It's actually a useful exercise that I would recommend to everyone opening FOP-related deletion requests here.

Also to the attention of Dogad75 who seems to be under an impression that file transfer is an effortless process and I having nothing else to do. That's not the case, especially during the WLM period. --Alexander (talk) 21:19, 26 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • In turn, I would recommend to Atsirlin and other walkers into rakes to leave their shifting-their-own-blame-onto-someone-else grand rhetoric behind and finally teach themselves how to explain to WLM contestants whereto they should upload photos of UPD:non-free monuments. Sealle (talk) 05:26, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Lodewijk, Lily, that's (not the first) Commons admin telling us that photos of monuments should not be uploaded to Commons. This is actually well in line with our own intention. We already have more than 23000 photos this year, and we would love to see them all in a place where these photos and their authors are treated with due respect. This brings me back to our discussion 2 years ago whether local teams should be allowed to organize WLM outside Commons, as long as they wish to spend their effort on the contest and not on the urgent transfer of files that someone arbitrarily nominates for deletion (see the standing concern by Wikisaurus above). --Alexander (talk) 06:03, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Atsirlin: Happy to reopen that conversation after the big rush is over. I'll have to read up on the specifics myself again. Effeietsanders (talk) 06:23, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, the original statement by Sealle was about monuments in general. Neither there was any attempt to discuss which monuments are free and which not. --Alexander (talk) 07:06, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
:) Matthew 7:3. You won't succeed in raising a conspiracy theory from inexact wording, which though had an obvious meaning for experienced users. Sealle (talk) 09:24, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Sealle: That must make me an inexperienced user then - I still don't know exactly what you're trying to suggest (or it's obvious to people who already know what they're trying to say, of course). Either way, it's probably something you could bring up in a reasonable conversation with us - preferrably 'off-season'. Effeietsanders (talk) 15:17, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
