likely copyvios - scans and photos of old professional photos and portraits - not own work - book covers - newspaper articles, etc

Hello Sorry I guess I don't understand how to describe my image posts. The images are all of unique items I own and scanned and so I described them as own Many of the photos scanned are 1. dated on their backside, or front, as being from 1923 or earlier, or 2. can be dated as pre-1923 by the appearance of the person in the photo or 3. Are of private anonymous snap shots

I am busy trying to correct the descriptions Thanks

possible copyvios - all of these were uploaded under {{PD-US}} but with no details or evidence that they qualify for that license - many of them, like File:Charles m jones breaking into the movies.jpg (Unicorn Press, 1927) are obviously not PD-US - this user has had mass copyvios deleted previously

The user responded to this notice on his/her talk page, so am linking it to this discussion.
Comment Many of the photos the user claims to have scanned from his/her personal collection have turned up on eBay auctions. There's certainly no harm in using eBay, but one has to be able to do outside research when necessary to prove the image is really in the public domain and be able to determine which public domain license applies.
