[edit]False claims of own work for publications that clearly are not. There is no evidence that any of these publications are available under a CC license that didn't even exist when they were printed.

- Keep. I made the scans and clippings, so yes, they are my own work. As for authorship by other persons, the scans and clippings pertain to facts and data, so there is no authorship from other persons. - Bossanoven (talk) 21:27, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
- That's not what "own work" means. All of these contain substantial original prose and/or photographs, none of which are yours. Making a scan or clipping does not give you authorship of other peoples' work. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 22:39, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

[edit]False claims of own work.

- I see you are referring to the attribution on the upload log. As you can see, this was a mishap that was quickly amended to the correct attribution, such as the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department. Both of these images are iconic mug shots (though I admit iconic mug shots are not very prevelant) taken by arms of the law, and therefore, they are public domain. I will try to ensure that the upload log does not contain such mishaps with any future uploads on any topic. - Bossanoven (talk) 20:55, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
- Delete per nom, "taken by arms of the law" <> "public domain". — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 21:20, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
- Under typical pretenses, you'd be right, but these two particular images are iconic, especially the first one, so are they not public domain? - Bossanoven (talk) 21:35, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
- Iconic is irrelevant to public domain status.--Prosfilaes (talk) 21:59, 25 December 2020 (UTC)

- Keep Harvey Murray Glatman. A 1945 work would have needed copyright notice and renewal, and checking is a mess, but I've never heard of such a work by a police department getting such a treatment. I feel there's more realistic concern that this isn't actually from 1945 or a mugshot of Glatman, and I'm not worried about that, either.--Prosfilaes (talk) 22:01, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
- en:Harvey Glatman claims that it is his 1958 mugshot. Is there evidence that it was actually published in 1958, or merely that it was taken then? Most mugshots were not regularly published until the modern advent of mugshot websites. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 05:46, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
