No Derivatives and, apparently, prior assistance (if not authorization) before upload is required. Some are credited USN official photos (not included in this DR), some are from personal collections, creators or donors of some others are unknownː in short, unclear copyright status.

Hello Patrick,
I checked the photos, which you placed here and all are from Naval Heritage History Center. I already checked their privacy policy in the past and found out, that these photo are allowed to be publish under public domain and there should be credits of each photo, which I believe I put in the source field. Please check the link here: Privacy Policy of Naval Heritage History Center and let me know, If you get it wrong. Also on your link is mentioned Official government photographs and documents are in the public domain and may be scanned and reproduced in print or online. They may be cropped or resized, but their content may not be altered.
I apologize for inconvenience, but I would like to maintain these photos on Commons, check the privacy policy and then let me know, what I can do different.
Thank you so much for your cooperation AntonyZ (talk)
The ones labelled 80-G are all from the National Archives (it's the National Archive id number), and are all in the public domain. The NH ones are from the Naval Naval Heritage History Center, and are also all PD, as noted. Hawkeye7 (talk) 19:30, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but I don't see "noted" here or elsewhere that NH images are all PD. By the way for what reasons since they come from different sources? --Patrick Rogel (talk) 19:52, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Patrick Rogel: I checked out your link to NHHC again and there is mentioned "Official government photographs and documents are in the public domain and may be scanned and reproduced in print or online." In my opinion, this is crucial, because all photographs above are Copyright Owner: Naval History and Heritage Command = GOVERNMENT PHOTOGRAPHS. In the link you send is mentioned that government photographs and documents are in the public domain. I think we follow the rules of NHHC command and also of Commons. If not, please write me down, what to improve, but I agree with @Hawkeye7: . My goal is to solve this situation, simple delete is not good option and will not help either Wikipedia or Commons at all. By the way photo of John W. Greenslade is also from NHHC, but is incorrectly named. AntonyZ (talk)
Is "Copyright Owner: Naval History and Heritage Command = GOVERNMENT PHOTOGRAPHS" correct? is just the question we have to solve by this discussion. Question will be solved the day an Administrator closes the discussion in one way or another so be patient, please. --Patrick Rogel (talk) 21:10, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Patrick Rogel: Naval Herritage and History Center is subordinated to the United States Navy and thus it is a government agency and copyright owner and that photos are governmental. I originaly thought, that you will be the person, who will decide whether delete or keep the photographs. Okay, so next step is to let administrator to decide, but what is the process before? He will just check this discussion? Or will be there any opportunity to defend our statement? AntonyZ (talk)
  • @AntonyZ: The administrator who closes this discussion should review your comments before making their decision. The administrator may also review any other information they think is relevant. If the administrator decides to delete your files, you can request an undeletion. But you will probably have to provide new information about why the files should be undeleted. Brianjd (talk) 12:17, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Brianjd: Okay, thank you for your information, I hope my arguments are enough for keeping the photo on Commons. How long it will approximately take to administrator to decide? AntonyZ (talk)
      • @AntonyZ: Deletion discussions normally stay open for 7 days unless the decision is really obvious. After that, who knows? Administrators are volunteers, just like other users here. And complex discussions often take longer. Brianjd (talk) 15:58, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
        • @Brianjd: ok thx, and what is your opinion about this case of my photos? By the way, I thought that reviewers are administrators. What is the role of reviewer, when he has no authority to decide, whether keep the photos or not. Thank for your time. AntonyZ (talk)
          • @AntonyZ: I have no opinion on your photos, because I am a volunteer too, and I don’t have time to review this request. Patrick Rogel seems competent enough, so I will leave it to them and other experienced users. Any user may close this request if they think it is not controversial, but only administrators can delete your photos. Brianjd (talk) 09:19, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: I believe it is the same US Navy. Their website is hosted on the US Navy domain, there is a statement "This is an official U.S. Navy web site" in the bottom of the page. So, PD. --rubin16 (talk) 11:27, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
