COM:COPYVIOs: Images from the Iraqi chemical attack on the Kurds in Iraq, March 16, 1988. Quoting from [1]: "The first images after the (Iraqi) attack were taken by Iranian journalists who later spread the pictures in Iranian newspapers; a film of the atrocity was also shown worldwide via news programmes. Some of those first pictures were taken by Iranian photographer Kaveh Golestan." The images also appear in a YouTube uploaded January 6, 2011. Iranian photographer Kaveh Golestan (1950 - 2003), was working for BBC at time of his death. These images were published by BBC and some were reprinted in Time Magazine (US). I do not think that sajed.ir holds copyrights on these images particularly the ones by Kaveh Golestan. Please also see discussion of sajed.ir images at Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Hananeh.M.h & Commons:Deletion requests/File:Ayatollah Ashrafi Esfehani8.jpg.

@Ellin Beltz: how you ensure these specific pics are from Golestan? the chemical attack happened before he joined BBC.--Srahmadi (talk) 15:13, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, before he joined BBC, but the images were published worldwide at the time of the chemical attack. Please see the reference above which clearly states that "some of those first pictures were taken by Kaveh Golestan"... At the time of his death he worked for BBC. Hope this make it clearer. @Ellin Beltz: your reference you are relaying on is not reliable. it contains false claims. also assuming it is right it says "some of these images". how you underestand exactly which of them is for Golestan? I am sure at least 3 of above pics are not for Golestan. because I know who is the photographer of them. for example File:امیر حاج امینی.jpg is taken by the photographer Ehsan Rajabi. Also I am not sure the rest are really taken by Golestan.--Srahmadi (talk) 10:03, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Srahmadi: re: " Images from the Iraqi chemical attack on the Kurds in Iraq, March 16, 1988. " Please tell me how Iranian PD covers images taken of the results of their chemical gas attack on ethnic people in the separate nation of Iraq? According to [2] ".ir" means it's Iranian website. So the chemical attack took place in a different country, there's no indication that any of the photographers released rights to these images to Iranian website sajed.ir regardless of which photographer took which image. The images were not taken in Iran, I don't see how this could possibly end up open permission. We are here to protect the copyrights of the creators, not of an Iranian website which lays claim to hundreds of images without any form of attribution.
