- Files without Google-logo at File:Memoirs of a Trait in the Character of George III2.djvu and File:Yorkshire Oddities, Incidents and Strange Events2.djvu. Changes have to be made either at Wikisource or whith these files to keep text and images at Src in correct order. Edaen (talk) 09:51, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
- Re: "Memoirs of a Trait..." - Apologies, I was not aware that the first page needed to be removed. In fact, I assumed that it had to be retained, because of the "Maintain Attribution" paragraph. I'm new to Wikisource and trying to figure out what needs to be done on that side. No objection to deletion of the original, but I'd like to have 48 hours to make sure everything is taken care of over there. Thanks. -Xpctr8 (talk) 14:52, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
- @OgreBot: I will remove the deletion notice. The document is in public domain and whatever Google pastes in the front is meaningless. Learn your Copyright laws. Furthermore, read the claim. FYI the reason why Google added the claim is on the supposition that at some point in the future they will be able to convince the US Congress to change the copyright laws. We at Wikisource remove these notices, if and when we are aware of them. — Ineuw talk 15:58, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
- The problem is that the page which Google puts at the front is copyrighted. That page must therefore always be removed before a Google file can be uploaded. --Stefan4 (talk) 16:17, 20 September 2014 (UTC)

- Comment I have removed a confusing and incorrect {{Notice}} template which was posted above. There are still old revisions of the files with the unfree Google notice which need to be removed. --Stefan4 (talk) 16:17, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
- @Stefan4: Then, if you are a Admin, I request that you delete the files with the Google notices. If you can't, please leave me a message. These files with the notice removed, should not be deleted.
- Comment Deletion notices should never be removed as long as the DR is open. Once an admin (or in some cases non-admin) closes the DR the notices will be removed if the file is kept. A deletion notices is an information to any user that the file is being discussed.
- In this case it seems that the problem is just page 1 and that should be easy to remove (if you know how to do so). @Stefan4: is it correct that theproblem is only page one and that you agree that the files can be kept when page one is removed or blanked? --MGA73 (talk) 08:57, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
- This a stupid storm in a teacup approach. Ignore Google's attempts to put a copyright over old works, and move on. Simply don't play the game. Simpler thing would be to mark the files for maintenance, and we will look to get it done once we can get a tool built. This weird attempt at some sort of purity for Google, where Google has thousands of copyright books copied and available and has clearance for it, is absolute rubbish. — billinghurst sDrewth 09:59, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
Kept: lead page of Google content has been removed — billinghurst sDrewth 10:08, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
