[edit]

Claim of copyright ownership seems unlikely with these images, especially the first. They are low resolution, and the contributor who uploaded them has a history of copyright issues on Wikipedia. Please see specifically discussion here en:Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files/2010 September 24#File:Vijay-spotted.jpg and in the next four sections. Note that in the first section he claimed copyright when metadata specifically proved other authorship. Note that in the second image of the grouping, he first said, "This file is created by myself" and then said, "To be frank with you. Through One of my family member (very close) I got this photo." After that, another contributor found it was a Getty Image by photographer Steve Powell. There are other images where he specifically and positively asserts that he was the photographer and decides to be "frank" and admit that he was not, though he in each case appealed for the images to be kept because he asserted that he had permission he could not prove. He very plainly does not care to follow copyright policies, and he has demonstrated that his word on this issue cannot be trusted. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:17, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The first picture was uploaded to wikipedia as w:File:Jjkumar.JPG and released into the public domain by the adopted grandson of the subject. Reuploading it to commons is not a copyright violation, although the tag used was incorrect. I have fixed it now. Yoenit (talk) 13:07, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That raises other concerns; was confirmation of that ever supplied to OTRS? We don't presume people are related because of similar usernames, and I don't see such a tag. :/ If not, I'll have to pursue that one independently. (Good find, by the way! :)) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:27, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Kumarrajendran is the adopted grandson of en:Janaki Ramachandran not en:J. Jayalalitha (i confirmed off wiki a year ago). He has uploaded scans of his family albums in en wiki. A lot of his images have been deleted over time because we cannot be sure even if it is from his family album, because we are not clear on their copyright.--Sodabottle (talk) 14:02, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
no 4 and no5 are clear copyvio as they are screenshots from the film en:Devar magan--Sodabottle (talk) 14:35, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Delete On my talk page he/she insists those other than the one by Kumarrajendran "are mine ONLY". There's a confusion about ownership of the copies and copyright, I'm sure. Hekerui (talk) 18:18, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

clarification

[edit]

Hello guys, please see that asking again & again it disturbs me. I am trying to make the best work that I can meeting the norms. Raising questions again & again clearly violates the trust on a regular user who does work based on true facts/events. I agree kamal with sivaji.jpg ( no 4 and 5 ) feels like a screen-shot from the movie Thevar Magan, so you are doubting that. But raising questions on Ilaiyaraja the maestro.jpg, Anbazhagan.jpg is not at all fair -- all are incidents inheriting with my previous works. Beleive me, give some air to inhale. All are bowing arrows at me in a single shot. Jayalalitha image is already there in wiki but not in wikicommons, so I added it. Trust me here - whatelse you want me. Please !!

I owe you all with good respect and continued experience working so long here. But do not view all like the same. I started in wiki casually. You know I use wiki right from year 2004 heavily. But all these times I never made efforts/learned whats going behind wiki & others. Seeing me daily constantly using wiki, one of my friend told me some basic instructions how to edit wiki. So I slowly started and now just like it doing. I do work based on my heart and truth. I am not mistaking you for all that you do, but never never take all cases to be the same and since you had experienced before like this and expecting it to be the same. what can I say, I feel I am throwned away.

Mere hours ago, you claimed here that file:kamal with sivaji.jpg was yours. You said, specifically, "Of these 3 images except File:Jayalalitha Early Star.JPG, all are mine. Please trust me" and "Other than this both other images are mine ONLY.... Seeing everything in doubt is not good and crushes users like me. I am totally got mad when again and again this is raised against me. Please please for God sake try to reach me. !!!" Now it seems that this was not true. The image has been identified. Now you defend the others just as heartily as you did that one a few hours ago. This scrutiny is fair. You have blatantly mislabeled content, asserting ownership that is not yours, and as a result we cannot easily take your word for it. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 23:54, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Quit playing the victim here. I have stopped assuming good faith with you. When you start spinning tales about how you own the copyright to a screen shot for a film shot in 1994, you are just digging the hole deeper. Whatever "contacts" you have with the cine world, won't give you copyright to the screenshot from Devar Magan. If it is not a screenshot from Devar Magan, then it is a publicity still that has been distributed by the film company - if someone hands you a film publicity still, it doesnt mean they are giving copyright to you. These repeated copyright violations prove you don't care about copyright issues and we can't have that here.--Sodabottle (talk) 04:15, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. All claims on copyright by this editor are dubious at best. The one file that might pass has to be verified at a different level - the copyright of that file appears to be in question on en.wiki, so the transfer to commons may not be appropriate at this point. Clarification again

[edit]

Hi everyone. Understand that these images are mine. It is from my collections except Jayalalitha Early star.jpg. It is an act of repeatation thats some are doubting me all I do. Please give some right and accept my work. I do take care a lot on copyright issues. Doubting me all I do with the best of my efforts is taking me back. As a uploader I take the responsibilities for these images here. Its very very easy to doubt, raise questions and delete within few hours. But think of the work the uploader takes care and the efforts. Its easy to destroy but Note very difficult to form something. Give equal right for all and view the work with correct investigation behind. I am a true wikipedian and always strive for good work on wikipedia.

Uploader has changed his story even in the short scope of this DR. We cannot rely on his or her word, therefore our Precautionary Principle applies. Deleted.
