[edit]

I feel bad about this deletion request because this is a user sharing their photos in good faith. However, this user has uploaded over 11,000 of their personal photos from their Flickr stream, with literally thousands coming in just the last few days. Most of these should stay on Flickr and do not belong on Commons according to the official policy about Project Scope: they are simply not useful for any educational purpose and are, as is stated in the policy, "Private image collections, e.g. private party photos, photos of yourself and your friends, your collection of holiday snaps and so on." Several of this user's photos are good and useful, but most are quick snapshots of random things, usually people, and apparently strangers with no indication they have given permission (personality rights) for their photos to be used. Many of the photos have no subject or theme, they are snapshots of parties and concertgoers, even out-of-focus random shots of crowds. I have nominated just a tiny fraction of these for deletion but we need to use some judgement and upload images that are useful per Project Scope. --Ruff tuff cream puff (talk) 05:45, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Sorry for the robot upload. Please feel free to delete as per your standards. Thanks for your help. Bengt Nyman (talk) 09:22, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. The real problem with these photos is that they are not described or categorized in a detailed enough manner to indicate subject or theme like "Mardi Gras, San Diego" or "Balboa Park, San Diego" etc. Bengt Nyman (talk) 09:50, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
P.P.S. I have removed the original category from the photographs which I agree should be deleted, while I have refined the category on the photographs which I consider harmless, even if the digital photographic quality (10 years ago) is nothing to brag about. @Bengt Nyman: 10 years is nothing. I still remember nearly 20 years ago when Nikon came out with their D1X, a 5 megapixel DSLR that cost 5,000$ body only. The D1H was "only" like 3500$ or 4000$... INeverCry 01:01, 28 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: some kept, some deleted per above. --INeverCry 00:58, 28 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
