The paintings clearly aren't the uploaders own work and the actual artist died in 2009. So the images are copyrighted until at least 2,079.

  • Note: The surname of the artist and the apparent surname of the uploader are the same. Could the uploader be the heir to the artist's intellectual property?

Well, this seems to be what the uploader is claiming [1]. Geo Swan (talk) 01:54, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Comment uploader should be requested to contact the VRT team, to confirm their claim they are the heir to the artist's intellectual property is credible. This may require more time than the usual deletion discussion, as instructing someone in how to confirm their identity can take time.
I left a note on the uploader's user talk page. Geo Swan (talk) 02:19, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The uploader can provide VRT permission if they want to. I don't really care if you think the best approach would have been to ask them for it before nominating the images for deletion though. No one is under any obligation to request an uploader provide VRT permission before nominating their images for deletion. --Adamant1 (talk) 06:31, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Even though Adamant1 says they don't care, I will nevertheless urge them to be nicer and more helpful to uploaders when it seems they might be the legitimate heirs to artist's intellectual property. Geo Swan (talk) 20:36, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think I said anything to the uploader, rude or otherwise, but OK. Not that I think you'd care, but there's plenty of examples of me being pretty polite to uploaders out there when they participated in deletion discussions. I'm just not nice to people like you who aren't willing to show me a monochrome of respect in return. I can guarantee we would get along perfectly fine if you weren't so hell bent on lecturing me and being dishonest instead of just making actual arguments though. I just have zero tolerance for being talked down to or lied about. That's all. I'm pretty polite otherwise though. Especially to uploaders who are willing to provide evidence that their uploads are copyright free. It's not at all rude or unhelpful to nominate images for deletion that lack it though. --Adamant1 (talk) 20:47, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: per ticket permission. --Krd 10:41, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted one which is not covered by the ticket. --Krd 08:38, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
