Files use Wikipedia logo which is protected by WMF but no such data available in many of files' the filedesc; All these operations with logo like changing widht and height proportions, putting digits or another symbols, bluring, changing colours and using backgrounds other than black or white violate wmf:Visual identity guidelines#18. No, I don't see any violation. I think Wikipedia community can make and approve variants of Wikipedia logo for a limited usage. This is a live tradition which makes Wikipedia a little bit more fun to use (just like Google Doodles make Google searching more fun and diverse). --Amakuha (talk) 17:06, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep. Quite ridiculous nomination: most, if not all of Category:Wikipedia logo variants contain at least one of the modifications mentioned in the visual identity guidelines (an element added, colour changed etc.) I would like to hear en explicit position of the Foundation that such logo variants are not acceptable in any version, and in particular that no Wikipedia has the right to change its logo (as any logo variant containing Wikipedia globe will violate these guidelines). As it is currently a common practice to make logo variants on special occassions, I think we need an official decision of Foundation whether they want or not to ban this practice, and if this practice is indeed banned, the whole Category:Wikipedia logo variants needs radical cleanup — NickK (talk) 22:03, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Delete I'm not sure that these files fall under provided guidelines, but I see other reason. These files are only logo projects and no more needed for us.
    Не впевнений, чи підпадають логотипи під наведені правила. Вони певною мірою самі собі суперечать. Адже, наприклад, файл, який ілюструє заборону сам знаходиться у Вікісховищі. Однак причина вилучення, як на мене, тут може бути інша: на відміну від наведених Amakuha логотипів, ці файли ніколи не використовувалися і не будуть використовуватися в інтерфейсі.     I agree, that most of these logo variants will never be used. But they may contain valuable ideas (like this one) for future designs of Wikipedia logo variants. Or at least they can show future designers what designs gained low support and what designs were preferred.
    And there is also Polish Wikipedia example: at least two of its Wikipedia 10 logo variants were never used:
