Signatures in Taiwan are considered as calligraphic work and copyright protected. There has been a court ruling that handwriting showing unique characteristics and the creator's creativity is subject to copyright protection.

This government regulation lists handwriting and calligraphy as examples of artistic works that are subject to copyright protection.
