  •  Keep The files were uploaded from Tasmin so the source in the file description must be Tasmin, it's all. They are published at Tasmin under this license, that is a fact. The attributions, in Tasmin and here, are to "Khamenei.ir", that is also the truth. I don't see an issue. Though the resolution are bigger at the source on Khamenei.ir, and I would have rather upload directly from there, there is currently no copyright violation.
CC BY 4.0 on Khamenei.ir = not a copyvio with CC BY 4.0 on Tasmin (with Khamenei.ir as source) = not a copyvio with CC BY 4.0 on Commons with Tasmin as source and Khamenei.ir as author, because it's simply the truth. I see no license laundering nor false attribution Christian Ferrer (talk) 12:03, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There was no direct upload for these (1–4 were okay) from Khamenei.ir because these images were not available on their site. The result of the previous discussion was to only accept Tasmin images from Tasmin photographers and to use Khamenei.ir for the Khamenei images. If you're saying we should let Tasmin license Khamenei images, that's new czar 18:13, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
All images (content) of Khamenei.ir are under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Then we have the right to publish their photo under a similar license... but Tasmin too have this right, and it is what they did! What you said is false : "because these images were not available on their site", all images nominated are available in big resolutions (click on each images) in khamenei.ir.
Tasmin have the right to publish these photos under this license because Khamenei.ir allow it, so they are not copyvios in Tasmin, so even if it is indeed better to upload directly from the source, we can upload it from Tasmin with a similar license.
What you say "If you're saying we should let Tasmin license Khamenei images, that's new " is also false, Khamenei.ir published first their content under this license Christian Ferrer (talk) 11:28, 6 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The issue was that I did not have and there was no indication of this gallery's existence. The gallery we were using from the event had no mention of the nominated images. I think my last point was not clear though. Yes, you can draw a connection between finding a Khamenei gallery and showing that we are all right to use Tasnim's version of the image, but the point of license review is to confirm that the license was correct in the first place, in which case we need to show that Khamenei published the image under the license (as you just did). For example, what if Khamenei used an image under fair use that Tasnim later reused with attribution? It doesn't mean the Khamenei license applied, as the image had to be "by" Khamenei. The point is, as prior deletion discussions concluded, that if the image comes from Khamenei, we should be confirming that the image comes directly from the site. (As a side note, I should note that the Farsi version of the site, where we are getting the images for this discussion, doesn't have a cc-by-4.0 release—that's only on the English version.) Anyway, thanks for the link. I've updated the images accordingly czar 13:05, 6 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
