Keep photos documenting different events like Category:97 Street Night Market (2014). Multichill (talk) 16:36, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have been very selective: there are still dozens of images of those events. BTW, not every event is in scope automatically... --P 1 9 9   19:25, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Delete per nom. This is "poorly curated photo set of random non-notable people at some event from flickr" #82,895 and out of scope, as it dosen't "document" anything, it shows random non notable people and falls under COM:PERSONAL. TheImaCow (talk) 06:57, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Appendix: Random events happen in any given city around the world at any given day - these events here and the photographs of people at them are barely more notable than a photographic documentation of yesterdays math lesson at some elementary school in Plainfield Kansas. And surely: If there would be such photo sets on the same random non-notable event but in the 1910s, then sure, the photos would be in scope - but we have already an incredibly huge pile of such images from current times, and sometimes enough is enough. Files need to be continously maintained, and this effort should not be wasted for millions of images depicting the same things ultimatly, which will lead to them neve being used for anything.
Those photos might be of interest to the people that visited those events, but that's it. I can't see any way how they are realisticaly usable for educational purposes. Some of them might be usable to illustrate general topics such as "people holding a presentation" or "camera crew at work", but none of this is reflected by categorisation/description (that's what I mean by "poorly curated"), and unless AI powered search is implemented, no one will ever find those images for such purposes. Unused personal photos or photos of non-notable persons/events, no educational value, out of scope. And likely some personality rights issues as well.

There are more than 22,000 images by this photographer!!! There are still many, many images of these local events. So, deleting some poor uncurated images is not going to affect history... --P 1 9 9   14:20, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
