[edit]Unfortunately there's no FOP in Italy and the architect of this building, Giulio Ulisse Arata, died in 1962. So these images are copyrighted until at least 2033.

- Vuoi diventare il nuovo Raoli? 😅 --Sailko (talk) 15:28, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- I don't know who that is. So probably not. Thanks for the comment though. Do you havee anything to say about the RfD or are you here just to make snide, off-topic comments? --Adamant1 (talk) 15:43, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- User Raoli started a massive deletion campaign about these FOP architecture in 2016... it did not end well for him 🤷 --Sailko (talk) 16:43, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- Ah, well then. I guess that makes sense. Although I wouldn't call a few nominations a massive deletion campaign, but I do wonder what your insinuating with the last bit. --Adamant1 (talk) 16:47, 20 October 2023 (UTC)

- What exactly is the copyright infringement in File:Palazzo berri-maregalli, di giulio ulisse arata, 1911-13, lucerna.jpg or File:Palazzo berri-maregalli, di giulio ulisse arata, 1911-13, 04 grate.jpg, on a pre-1923 building to boot? Whose copyright on what and where? This DR seems carelessly filed and worth closing as invalid unless remedied. Nemo 17:55, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter when the building was built if the architect hasn't been dead for more then 70 years. I'm not really sure why your making the same unhelpful, condecending comments in multiple DRs I've opened, but whatever the reason I'd appreciate if you stop doing it since they clearly aren't constructive and show a severe lack of good faith. Thanks. --Adamant1 (talk) 20:15, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
@Adamant1: Personally, I believe this approach lacks pragmatism and sensibleness. A more appropriate course would have involved engaging in a participative discussion, seeking mutual consent (as per WP:CONS), before proposing the deletion of dozens of images. Given that this matter has been discussed extensively over the past decades and clearly holds sensitivity, a collaborative approach would have been more considerate. That's why someone may feel as necessary to write the same message in dozen of different pages: because there is not a single place where to talk about your action. I won't do post mine everywhere, but I find this frustrating. Thank you. --teatroge (dm) 16:34, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if your confused or something, but the whole point in this discussion is to form a consensus about if the images should be deleted or not. That's litterally what the purpose of a DR is. I also have no clue what matter that's been discussed extensively over the past decades and clearly holds sensitivity that refering to or think I'm ignoring since there's clearly no FOP and hasn't been one for a while. Although it is a little strange that DRs I opened for images of places in Italy are suddenly reciving the same kinds of insulting and vacious messages from multiple people. Its clearly not a coincidence. --Adamant1 (talk) 17:22, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Adamant1: Dear Adamant1, please believe me, I understand your frustration about the tone. However, I personally have treated you with respect, taking your statements into account, expressing my views clearly but civilly. When I read phrases like "it is a little strange that DRs I opened for images of places in Italy are suddenly reciving the same kinds of insulting and vacious messages from multiple people. Its clearly not a coincidence", I feel personally insulted and discriminated. Therefore, I believe it is important to direct you to WP:NPA and WP:GF, inviting you to read these pages extremely carefully. Please refrain from painting everyone with the same brush and from making further personal attacks, especially those based on geographical origin (I don't want to think it was a kind of discrimination, but just a sentence written in a bit of a rush); it's the worst way to conduct a civil conversation, don't you agree? My comment was clearly contextualized and, I believe, not offensive. Again, I understand your feeling, please try to do the same with others, my friend. A deletion, even when justified, is always a defeat for the user, as it is a waste of time. This must be taken into account, and appropriate tones should be used, even when one is in the right.
- In summary, proposing the removal of dozens of images, many of which were uploaded by highly experienced users (some of whom are/were also sysops), is, in my opinion, a behavior not conducive to productive cooperation. I think discussion and involvement should precede such actions, opening a specific discussion, not a thousand different ones where it's not easy to decide which one to start with. I never questioned your good faith, nor did I doubt that you might also be right. What I, civilly, criticized was the method. It's clear that the atmosphere this action has caused is not pleasant, isn't it? Therefore, it would be good to reflect on one's own responsibilities, rather than respond with a personal attack, as you did here with me.
- What we are talking about is an ancient issue that has caused what I don't esiteate to call 'pain' in the Italian community: time spent, difficult conversations, frustrations, users who preferred not to contribute anymore or even leave or change their accounts. But that's not the point, this is just the context. What I personally criticized, respectfully, is the method, because it doesn't facilitate dialogue and, as is entirely obvious, has instead created tension.
- If I have expressed myself unclearly, I apologize. Please feel free to ask me any questions you find appropriate. Thank you. --teatroge (dm) 20:31, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- There's nothing respectful about writing long, highly personal messages about other users in a DR. Especially ones going off about how the person's "approach lacks pragmatism and sensibleness." Really, it's rather rich that your the one who feels insulted at the same time your original comment serves no other purpose then to impinge my character and abilities by acting like this deletion request was somehow senseless, doesn't follow the consensus process, is uncollaborative, insensitive to long standing discussions, Etc. Etc. Your the only one responding with personal attacks. Nothing about either one of your comments assumes good faith either. So I'd appreciate it if from now on you left the personal comments out of this and addressed if the files are copyrighted instead. Either that, or just don't participate. I'm definitely good on the sanctimonious diatribes though. Writing a 15 line lecture that's nothing but moral grandstanding is no way a collaborative, considerate way to approach this. Please either comment on the deletion request itself or find another area to edit in. Thanks. --Adamant1 (talk) 23:11, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- Please stop it now. I talked about the procedures, which I consider to be very wrongly conducted, not about you as a person, please distinguish between what pertains to the procedures and what pertains to the person/user. You haven't given any reply about the content I wrote and replyed talking about me and my nationality, which is outrageous. Now you're mocking the message with sarcasm (calling it a "lecture") and even inviting me to leave. You are also calling a long-written message, meant to be kind and understandable in a language that is not mine, as "lecturing". This is against any rules of behaviour, so: stop it now. I repeat: now, thank you. I will leave the discussion because it is not the place, I don't want to escalate it, and do not like toxic conversations. Have a good time. Goodbye. --teatroge (dm) 00:50, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
- OK. If that's the case then there shouldn't be a problem here since I was talking about the "procedures" of how people should comment in DRs, I.E. by discussing the files, not you personal. Or does that only go one way? As to your comment that this anything to do with your nationality, I clearly said " images of places in Italy" are being bigraded by comments like yours and the last time I checked your not "images of places in Italy." Knowere have I commented on your nationality or care about it. Your the one who brought it up because your obviously trying to invent a problem here where there isn't one in order to undermined and derail the discussion.. --Adamant1 (talk) 04:45, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
