There is no Freedom of Panorama in Greece. The monument was created by sculptor Vasos Falireas who died in 1979, so it is still not public domain (70+).

Are not the results of the last debate over the previous deletion request, made just three years ago, still applicable? If not, why not? WolfmanSF (talk) 02:07, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Unless there is substantive new discussion, the outcome (to keep) of the last discussion, covering exactly the same ground, should stand. WolfmanSF (talk) 05:11, 1 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The previous discussion contained some misconceptions and bad information about greek law and the monument itself, so the result was misguided.
  1. There is no Freedom of Panorama in Greece
  2. Copyright of this monument is not owned by the state:
    1. It was erected with donations from AHEPA and Greek-Americans, not by the greek government (or King Paul as it was reported in the previous discussion).
    2. Even if it was paid by the state (it wasn't) it would still be intellectual property of the creator, as the law says that copyright is retained by the state for the works of its employees, but not contractors.
    3. Even if the architect/sculptor was an employee of the government (he wasn't) or there was a clause in the contract that copyright would be transfered to the state (unusual), it would still be copyrighted by the state. Government works in Greece are not public domain as in the US.

Converting from a CfD by Glorious 93, who says: "Monument erected in 1955. Vasos Falireas, its sculptor, died in 1979. Also, there's no FOP in Greece. As a result I think that this category and all its files should be deleted."
