 Delete per the above. I added "Category:Money of North Korea itself" above. I also added "Note: per Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Banknotes of North Korea and en:Copyright law of North Korea chapter 4, no pictures or motion pictures of money of North Korea may be uploaded to Commons." to each category initially, we can make a template later.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 01:54, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jeff G.: What is the content of the template? Ox1997cow (talk) 18:57, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ox1997cow: A template could indicate under what conditions users may and may not upload depictions of money of North Korea. I imagine money that is old enough is out of copyright.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 03:50, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, is there at least a threshold of originality in DPRK? Patterns on SVG files seem to be very simple to be the subject of copyright. — Baidax 💬 16:33, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Baidax: Every unit of money should exceed local TOO where it is created, or counterfeiters will flood the market.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 17:47, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jeff G.: Slightly simplistic interpretation of legal principles. Some countries produce coins whose representation on them is in the public domain, however using a copy for the purpose of fraud is indeed prohibited. — Baidax 💬 18:07, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jeff G.: Come to think of it, isn't {{NoUploads}} in that role? For example, Category:Burj Khalifa, Category:Abraj Al Bait Towers, and Category:Lotte World Tower are categories of buildings located in countries where there are no freedom of panorama, so {{NoUploads}} attached on them. Therefore, I attached {{NoUploads}} template at Category:Banknotes of the United Kingdom according to COM:CUR UK. Ox1997cow (talk) 06:23, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ox1997cow: That template concerns an artist associated with the resident cat or gallery. I don't think it applies to any of the cats named at the top.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 15:05, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
note: village pump discussion has: "But I also see in Template:PD-DPRKOld : « Article 24: The property rights to a copyrighted work or a copyrighted visual art work whose author is an institution, enterprise or organization shall be protected for up to 50 years from the moment of its publication. », so coins and banknotes publish before this date are in the public domain", so maybe some will survive Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 10:00, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Comment
per Commons:Copyright rules by territory/North Korea, published collective work is in PD after 50 years. I suppose banknotes are such collective work. I think it is undesirable that the admin should sort out which notes/coins are that old. I think the nominator should perform this task. In addition, all other DR's I have closed up to now list the individual files, so the original uploaders are informed and can comment. Also the other referenced DR's have lists of files. I propose to close this DR without deleting and ping User:Ox1997cow and other involved persons to nominated the individual files (younger then 50 years) that should be deleted, including the undeletion dates, so they can be put in an undeletion category for the future. Ellywa (talk) 19:54, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ellywa: I didn't upload images of North Korean banknotes. Ox1997cow (talk) 23:19, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ox1997cow: No of course you did not :-). I hope you have some time to sort out the age of the banknotes/coins. Those older then 50 years can be kept imho. And I think the others should be nominated individually, not as a complete category. Ellywa (talk) 10:53, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ellywa: Please refer to this. Someone has sorted it out. Ox1997cow (talk) 13:39, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ox1997cow: Good news. So this deletion request can be closed for the banknotes. But how about the coins? Ellywa (talk) 19:41, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ellywa: I'm sorry, but it's too hard to list and organize it. Ox1997cow (talk) 00:49, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Big sigh... somebody has to do this. It is not hard, it is just tedious. List of coins with dates according description on file page or name of file (Ellywa (talk) 09:58, 7 December 2021 (UTC)):[reply]
No date, general design, backside, can imho be kept
Before 1971, can be kept.
After 1971, must be deleted

Deleted: Banknotes have been cleaned in another request, coins deleted if they were from 1971 or later. --Ellywa (talk) 10:01, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
