[edit]ESA logos are normally not free licenced and it seems to be happen an error by the European Space Agency. The current licence says "© ESA/Steinbeis Beratungszentrum/Hochschule Darmstadt". Our only proof for free licensing is the short range from May 2017 till December 2017 with "CC BY-SA 3.0 IGO". At least from March 2018 until now this acceptable licence was removed from ESA's website. I know, that a free licence can not be revoked, but i could imagine that there is a moral right for clearing of errors in a big intergovernmental organization. There are thousends of employees and mistakes happen and in this case the error was cleared. Should we insist on the "free licence"? I don't think so and we have to protect our users according to COM:PCP!

- Comment The PDF from the original creator (Prof. Christian K. Pfestorf) state: "© 2017 Prof. Christian K. Pfestorf . Steinbeis Beratungszentrum rhein.main.international.institute for advanced design strategies" so the logo was never free. --Ras67 (talk) 19:19, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- I believe that a court could decide, that the ESA "CC BY-SA 3.0 IGO" licence was void ex tunc due to an error. The ESA as organisation had never the intention to publish this icon under a free licence. If a subsequent user exploits the logo commercially in a non ESA manner, a trial is probably. In the interests of prudence we must delete it! --Ras67 (talk) 21:42, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
- Keep Unless anyone from the ESA cares to ask for a courtesy removal, http://web.archive.org/web/20170604232512/http://www.esa.int/spaceinimages/Images/2017/05/Horizons_logo is fine evidence that the copyright release is correct and verifiable. --Fæ (talk) 12:58, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- No, the link above is not a "fine evidence"! ESA may let delete this save point anytime, we have no reliable source. --Ras67 (talk) 20:04, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
- How is the ESA not evidence of the original irrevokable release? Sources go dead or change all the time, Commons does not automatically make unsourced presumptions and delete these files. When there is a request or evidence that the release was incorrect, a deletion may be needed. --Fæ (talk) 20:37, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
- What want you say? As long as the source exists, all is OK else the files may be deleted? --Ras67 (talk) 22:05, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

Deleted: per nomination. These logos are not free to use imho. Deleted per CI\OM:PRP, we do not want to wait till we get a claim. All ESA material is copyrighted. --Ellywa (talk) 10:58, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
