[edit]There is no freedom of panorama in Latvia.

- This is not true - sanity was introduced in the law 5 years ago and I don't know for what purposes Commons choose to ignore it:
- Section 25. Use of a Work on Public Display
- (1) It is permitted to use images of works of architecture, photography, visual arts, design, as well as of applied arts, permanently displayed in public places, for personal use and as information in news broadcasts or reports of current events, or include in works for non-commercial purposes.
- (2) That which is referred to in this Section shall not apply to cases when the image of a work is an object for further repetition of the work, for broadcast by broadcasting organisations or for the purpose of commercial use of the image of a work. [1]
- Thus it would seem that everything is covered - if it is an image that is used commercialy limitations provided don't appy, but despite the law being quoted on freedom of panorama in Latvia there still is a claim this is not enough. Would love to hear why ~~Xil (talk) 02:23, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
Deleted: As clearly stated here, freedom of panorama in Latvia is limited to noncommercial use (and news). Clause (2) states that the permissions granted by the section don't apply to commercial use. All works on Commons must be available for commercial use (see Commons:Licensing). Dcoetzee (talk) 10:45, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
