[edit]No FoP for that kind of artworks in Australia. A few garffitis are just text, but the texts potentially benefit from the same protection.

- We have been down this path so many times on Commons in relation to illegal graffiti! No court would award anyone for an illegal act. There is no FoP for legal graffiti (where permission was granted or the local council or business has hired someone but for illegal works, the law cannot protect the person’s ‘creative rights’. - Quick search of past discussions Commons:Deletion requests/File:Natural History Museum street mural, Enmore NSW.jpg, Commons:Deletion requests/File:P-haze.JPG. File:Illegal graffiti on a wall in Wagga Wagga.jpg is indeed of illegal graffiti painted on the wall of the local TV news building (story hidden behind a paywall). - Delete File:Clive Palmer 2018 billboard with graffiti in Mt Lawley Perth.jpg, File:Clive Palmer 2018 billboard with graffiti on Brisbane St Perth.jpg and File:Clive Palmer 2019 January billboard with stick-on graffiti in Mt Lawley Perth.jpg as they are "graphic works", Keep the rest per {{Non-free graffiti}}. --B dash (talk) 02:28, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
- What is meant by "graphic works"? Perth Jaywalker (talk) 09:54, 29 April 2019 (UTC)
- Keep The graffiti in File:Clive Palmer 2018 billboard with graffiti in Mt Lawley Perth.jpg, File:Clive Palmer 2018 billboard with graffiti on Brisbane St Perth.jpg and File:Clive Palmer 2019 January billboard with stick-on graffiti in Mt Lawley Perth.jpg was almost certainly created without the permission of Mr Palmer. For a court to uphold copyright, it must first acknowledge the act of property damage by graffiti, which by the Graffiti Vandalism Act 2016 (Western Australia) carries a penalty of a fine of $24000 and imprisonment for 2 years. All three billboards have since been replaced by new advertising. Perth Jaywalker (talk) 02:29, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
- Delete File:Clive Palmer 2018 billboard with graffiti in Mt Lawley Perth.jpg, File:Clive Palmer 2018 billboard with graffiti on Brisbane St Perth.jpg and File:Clive Palmer 2019 January billboard with stick-on graffiti in Mt Lawley Perth.jpg, the billboards are copyrighted and should be deleted per COM:DW, De minimis doesn't apply.
- Keep File:Illegal graffiti on a wall in Wagga Wagga.jpg (Source proving it was illegal graffiti https://www.dailyadvertiser.com.au/story/5154977/illegal-plea-of-passion-prompts-calls-for-graffiti-wall/ [maybe hidden behind a paywall]). Legal graffiti shouldn't be uploaded but with illegal the graffiti artist would have a hard time arguing in a court that there copyright has been infringed, otherwise it would be making an illegal act of "vandalism" legal in a sense. Commons in the past has allowed illegal graffiti photographs to remain and legal graffiti to be deleted (see COM:GRAFFITI, Commons:Deletion requests/Template:Non-free graffiti, Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Banksy in London, Commons:Deletion requests/Image:Shock-awe-graffiti.jpg, Commons:Deletion requests/File:Kefalonia Fae085.jpg. Bidgee (talk) 10:15, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
Kept: Most kept per Bidgee, 3 deleted as the billboards are copyright. --Gbawden (talk) 06:45, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
