Photos of the Category:Gay Liberation Monument
[edit]There is no Freedom of Panorama for sculpture in the United States. It appears to have been first "published" in 1986. It is unknown whether it was published with a copyright notice, but the sculptor George Segal is known to have registered three 1991 sculptures (VAu000455081). If deleted, some of these can be copied to local Wikis that allow fair use; if kept, for consistency File:Monument at Christopher Park.jpg should be considered for undeletion.

- It's worth double checking for potential de minimis cases. I find File:Christopher Park Gay Liberation monument and Pulse memorial 8.jpg to have a focus on the people, with the artwork very much in the background, indeed mainly covered by flags; so Keep for that photograph. Some US states have exceptions for state commissioned works, making them public domain. Unfortunately I don't believe any exceptions like this exist for New York State. --Fæ (talk) 14:59, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
- It was apparently commissioned by the "Cleveland-based Mildred Andrews Fund," per the Wikipedia article. Storkk (talk) 15:06, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
- I've reached out to the Segal Foundation for more information and to inquire about permission. It's a long-shot, of course, but I'd appreciate holding off on a quick close. — Rhododendrites talk | 16:25, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
- Fingers crossed... that would be great news. Storkk (talk) 17:05, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
Photograph of the sign at the Category:Gay Liberation Monument
[edit]This sign is by the City of New York Parks & Recreation department. New York is not a state that considers its governmental works to be in the Public Domain.

Deleted: Kept #8 per discussion, examined all the other pictures and found the Segal sculptures to be the focus of the remaining images. --Ellin Beltz (talk) 18:03, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
