The sculpture was created in 2001, so it is still subject to copyright restrictions. There is no freedom of panorama exemption in the Ukraine.

    • My picture File:Euromaidan in Kiev 2014-02-19 12-31.jpg clearly does not violate FOP, since there's is exemption in Ukrainian law:
      ...it shall be permitted without the consent of the author (or other copyright holder) and with mandatory indication of the author's name and of the source of borrowing: ... to reproduce, in order to highlight current events by means of photography or cinematography, to carry out public notification or other public communication of the works seen or heard in the course of such events to the extent justified by the informational purpose (see Commons:Freedom of panorama#Ukraine)
    • The purpose of this picture is clearly depicting events in Kyiv on 19 February 2014 during the Ukrainian Revolution and not to show the statue itself. This is obvious from the position of the statue on the photo (it's seen only partially and in shade), absence of focus on the statue, and even name and description. --Amakuha (talk) 13:43, 11 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Amakuha: I don't think it qualifies under de minimis, but that exemption is clear enough and this is obiovusly being used to depict current events. So that's great, let's keep it.
