These are drawings, most of them signed, from various covers of a Brazilian cinema magazine, published in the 1920s to 1940s. They were all uploaded to Commons by an apparently rather problematic user (blocked two weeks ago for 6 months) with the claimed author "Cinearte (Brazil Magazine)" and a claimed CC license. I don't see any evidence for that license, and there's a good chance that the artists were still alive beyond 1951, which would mean their work is still protected per Brazil's 70 years pma copyright term. The files should therefore be deleted per the precautionary principle unless conclusively shown to be either in the PD or under a free license.

More like "J. Luiz". That signature is on several of them. --Rosenzweig τ 12:44, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Here is a blog entry about the Cinearte covers. Four artists are more or less identified there, one of them is Manuel Móra (1884–1956), so those covers will enter the PD in Brazil in 2027. The other three are J. Luiz, Fred Moulin and "LS", no years given for birth or death. --Rosenzweig τ 11:54, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
J. Luiz was a woman, an illustrator, cartoonist, make-up artist and fashion designer also known as Jotinha [1] or Jota, a friend of film star Carmen Miranda and still active in 1942. The family name (double name) was Borgerth Teixeira [2], so "J. Luiz Borgerth Teixeira". --Rosenzweig τ 12:58, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Full name was apparently José Luiz Borgerth Teixeira [3], born ca. 1910 apparently [4]. --Rosenzweig τ 14:36, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Still active in 1953 and 1957 [5] ([6]). --Rosenzweig τ 17:13, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Fred Moulin: The 1940 US census has a Frederico Moulin Jr., artist born in Brazil and working in the lithograph industry, aged 42, living in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and a daughter. He's also there in the 1930 census already. There is also a 1942 US draft registration card for him, still living in Brooklyn, working for Trautmann, Bailey & Blampey Lithographers, born in Rio de Janeiro on May 12, 1897. You can find him in various ship passenger lists too, travelling between New York and South America from 1930 to 1956. The Social Security Death Index says he died in June 1965, last living in Brooklyn, social security number 067-01-7021. And the NYC death index says that a Federic Moulin, born in 1897, aged 68, died on June 22, 1965 in Manhattan, certificate number 13370. I'd say that is our guy. --Rosenzweig τ 15:04, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per nomination and discussion. As shown, several images with a signature are not in PD yet. The drawings without a signature could be in PD per Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Brazil (Anonymous Publish + 70 years). However, the name of the illustrator on the front page of a magazine is usually included in the colofon or on one of the first few pages. As this has not been checked by the uploader or anyone else (in a library) these image – with or without a signature must be deleted per COM:PRP. If you do not agree with my decision to delete the file, please ask for undeletion on COM:UNDELETE. If you do so, formulate your motivation why this image can be maintained very clearly and base your motivation on the Commons policies. After that, another administrator will take a decision.. --Ellywa (talk) 19:30, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
