No freedom of panorama in France

Lophotrochozoa (talk) 14:43, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just for the sake of precision, File:Mini Europa-2045 Centre Georges-Pompidou.jpg was actually taken in Belgium: it's a model in en:Mini-Europe. It doesn't make a big difference, there's no FoP in Belgium either. El pitareio (talk) 15:05, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, No freedom of panorama in France but Mini Europe is placed in Belgium. And in Mini Europe it is allowed to take photos. What is the matter? remove deletion request, please.
Keep File:P1000954 Paris IV Rue Beaubourg reductwk.JPG because it seems to be a photo of a street, and the building seems to be de minimis.
Keep Fichier déjà examiné et conservé (cf https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File_talk:P1000954_Paris_IV_Rue_Beaubourg_reductwk.JPG ici])--Mbzt (talk) 09:56, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Delete File:Maria Faustino, Tipi du Centre Pompidou, avril 1998, Paris.jpg because it seems to be a photo of a museum exhibit. The building itself is de minimis.
Delete File:Ron Arad exhibit Centre Georges-Pompidou 2008.jpg because it shows a museum exhibit. Putting something around the chair is probably copyrightable given the 'paradise' example at COM:TOO#France. The picture doesn't show any copyrightable parts of the building, though.
Keep File:Roof terrace of the Centre Pompidou, Paris 2010.jpg because the picture doesn't seem to contain any copyrightable works which aren't de minimis.
Not sure about File:Panorama Tour Saint-Jacques Nord.JPG. It seems to be a panorama shot of a large area, but the picture seems to be focused a lot on Pompidou Centre, which appears in the middle of the picture.
Delete the rest because there is no freedom of panorama in France. --Stefan2 (talk) 16:54, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Asclepias is right, this global delete commons is nonsense. Speedy close as keep and let the nominator renominate individually. --Michael (talk) 08:49, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: Renominate individually; as requested by the community. --Riley Huntley (talk) 18:11, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding File:Beaubourg 09 2016.jpg which I am the author of, the main subject is the street juggler, the Centre Pompidou is in the background. You will notice that the right part of the photo is blurred. This is deliberate (a tilt-shift lens was used) precisely to show what is the main subject of the picture. In my view, this is acceptable. Having said that, this picture is released in the public domain, so feel free to do whatever you want with it. --Albert Bergonzo (talk) 08:47, 22 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This shows a lot of the building's facade, especially the circular walkways, and 2/3 of it is sharp. This is a high-res image, so the image could be cropped closer to the juggler to eliminate more of the building. lNeverCry 09:26, 22 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with INC that the juggler image it is unacceptable as it stands. I suggest you crop off the top third and appropriately at the sides and upload the crop directly over the existing image. That would probably be acceptable. The closing Admin would then remove only the existing image, leaving the crop.
As for the others,  Delete. .     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 10:24, 22 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It is your privilege to delete this file. I am afraid however that I will not comply with your request to alter the composition of my work. I must express surprise that this was even asked.--Albert Bergonzo (talk) 12:01, 22 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No FOP in France. Bâtiment construit en 1977.

  •  Keep all files published or created before the law was enforced... Or shall we burn the books and films which were made before the law was voted? In my opinion the law applies from the date it was enforced and all earlier materials should be preserved. The legislation has surely been drafted to prevent an iconoclasm. If the image was created or published before the enforcement of the law, so it is published in all legality. If a third party uses the file after the legislation was enforced, then the third party may be guilty of an offence depending on the usage, but not Wikimedia. This may require a change in the wording of the copyright by Wikimedia. Please do not delete images which were created or published in all legality. KEEP - NO ICONOCLASM - --Christophe Krief (talk) 13:42, 15 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep File:Centre Georges Pompidou Facade.jpg, Considering the copyright attached, considering the date the photo was taken "December 2013", the law does not apply to this photo, as the law was enforced on 9th October 2016. There should be no retro-active enforcement of the legislation. The photo is clearly dated and should be presserved on wikicommons. The photo is used on wikipedia articles --Christophe Krief (talk) 23:25, 16 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep File:Preservation is life - Les sons de ma vie 2.jpg as it was OTRS confirmed from the artist in my volunteering time. It was accidentally/carelessly DRed several times and kept. Jee 08:37, 16 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep File:Paris 29rue du Renard couloir de courtoisie.jpg Considering the copyright attached, considering the date the photo was taken "circa 1985". the law does not apply to this photo, as the law was enforced on 9th October 2016. There should be no retro-active enforcement of the legislation. The photo is clearly dated and should be preserved on wikicommons. The photo is used on wikipedia articles --Vivepat (talk) 19:26, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per nomination. The "keep" reason that the "files were published or created before the law was enforced" is not valid. Kept 2 with OTRS ticket. P 1 9 9   13:11, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I regretfully nominate those excellent photos of Centre Pompidou for deletion. Unfortunately there is as yet no freedom of panorama in France.
