Per the recent decision in DC Comics v. Mark Towle, the Batmobile is covered by DC Comics character copyrights and any derivative representations of the Batmobile (including replicas) require DC Comics' approval in order to be distributed. http://www.dcentertainment.com/contact is the contact page if someone wants to email them to license any images for use here. We may wish to get pushy and mention that we may use my information file in some of the articles.--Canoe1967 (talk) 20:09, 6 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Photos of legitimate characters in public... not sure those would necessarily be considered derivative of the character. It is not quite the same thing as photos of a straight-up sculpture, where the actual content is fully copyrightable -- it is only certain aspects of the car which are a problem. Many commercial uses of those photos are OK (Getty would be allowed to sell them straight-up for example), but the question is if there are uses which could actually infringe the character copyright, if the photo was used as-is (we shouldn't delete just because it's possible for someone to crop out the mobile from its context and use that in an infringing way). People making unauthorized character costumes (similar situation to that court case) have definitely been found guilty, but I have never heard of a photo of a legitimate costume being called a problem. On the other hand, the scale model is a toy, not a utilitarian article with separable copyrightable bits, and thus is a straight-up sculpture. Photos of toys have been ruled derivative so unfortunately the latter four should probably go. Carl Lindberg (talk) 01:21, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
One is also a copyvio, I think. See: http://www.autogaleria.hu/index.php?s=tgal&tid=5780&marka=lincoln and http://www.autogaleria.hu/index.php?s=tgal&tid=5781&marka=lincoln from the same uploader.--Canoe1967 (talk) 01:34, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ah yes. File:Lincoln futura batmobile 1966.jpg would need OTRS permission to keep it; the copyright owner is listed in the EXIF info there. Carl Lindberg (talk) 02:20, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Five are images of toy models that don't look de min to me. Aren't images of models copyvio? Admin may just wish to speedy them or delete/strike my comment if I am wrong.--Canoe1967 (talk) 19:52, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comment File:Batmobile-haa.jpg appears to be a copyvio: here in 2007, Commons in 2011. File:60sbatmobile.jpg is concerning, too, as it appears to be from the same exhibit (note Batman cutout) and possess similar technical characteristics (also low resolution, no camera EXIF, etc.) May be Flickr washing. Not the best image of it either. The link to the Flickr page doesn't go to that image. We may just err on side of caution and delete it. I see many sites have used our version since it was uploaded here. Should we add that Flickr account to a block list if we have one? I don't what the criteria are for doing that.--Canoe1967 (talk) 21:00, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Blocking the Flickr account seems unnecessary. That image has been removed from Flickr and a sampling of the remaining images in the stream shows consistent high resolution and EXIF data (Konica Minolta DiMAGE G600). This uniformity suggests the images are the user's own, and indeed casts additional doubt on the 60sbatmobile image's provenance (i.e., why is it a deviation from the other Batman-related images in the stream?)
