[edit]

Obvious low quality screenshots of videos or TV broadcasts, at least five of these files seem to come from the Federação Portuguesa de Futebol YouTube channel, as per the position and quality of the camera, which doesn't have their videos tagged with the YouTube CC license. Their previous files were deleted for the same reason. I added the "no source since" tag to these files, but they keep getting removed, once by the user and two times by IP's whose only contributions are removing the tags. nicolas talkpage★★★ 17:16, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep, Rubbish obviously, nobody was complaining about the images nor their quality, now this user is coming after all of my files, which by the way are all perfectly licensed. So for me keep. If they werent correctly licensed they would be found on the internet, and they arent, the only direct link is the upload I made. Nothing more I think the person who supports Argentina should be foccused on the Argentinian players there's clearly some bias against these images.talkpage 02:55, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not necessarily complaining about their quality, many "low quality" images are used in Wikidata and Wikipedia articles, but what I mean is that the quality of them makes me think that they are not derivative works of photographs. Screenshots have fewer compression artifacts than photographs taken with cameras, and because screenshots are typically simpler images with less variation than photographs, they have smaller file sizes; for example, most of these images are around 150 kB in size, with the largest being only 220 kB (PedroNetoEur.jpg). Not to mention that they do not have EXIF metadata, which shows information about the photograph and the camera with which it was taken. If they are real photos, and I'm completely wrong, you can also upload (or link to) the original uncropped photos to ensure that these cropped versions are derivative works of files taken by you and not videos. And since videos have a fixed screen resolution and aspect ratio, I'm sure it might be good to add this.
Also, I should mention that I have over 30 000 contributions to Commons and have tagged for speedy delete a large number of images of Argentine players, including those who played or currently play for the clubs I support. I'm not sure why you think there is a bias, I think the only reason may be the "Messi–Ronaldo rivalry"? But believe me, I have no opinion on the Portugal national football team or the country in general. To assume that because I'm Argentine there are prejudices against the players of the Portugal national team is completely incorrect. Please avoid making assumptions like this in the future. nicolas talkpage★★★ 18:23, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, @Tonispin. I just wanted to mention that I included your RenatoVeiga.jpg file, which was posted after this deletion request was opened, because the deletion request has not yet been closed and I believe it has issues for the same reasons as your other files. Regards. nicolas talkpage★★★ 02:46, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: Just saw this discussion on these images, and I believe in the good faith of Tonispin's uploads. Personally, I have images with worse quality, but they are perfectly licensed. So in order to delete these set of images, there's way worse possibly in bad faith in order to destabilize Commons that should be deleted instead. In my humble opinion, I think this image (File:NunesWolves 2022.jpg) is an example of what could be deleted, but its perfectly lincensed, so its OK. Final opinion Keep, believe in the good faith of the uploads. Kaisen12 (Talk) 01:02, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Kaisen12, this deletion request is not about whether or not these files should be removed due to their low quality, but rather whether these files are the work of Tonispin, as they claim in the description of the files. File:NunesWolves 2022.jpg is cropped and, although there is no EXIF metadata, in the Flickr link indicated as the source you can see the complete image with the file metadata, not like in the files of this deletion request.
And, while I don't believe the user uploaded the files in bad faith, Tonispin has made similar uploads in the past, and multiple users have tagged them for speedy deletion; their messages can be viewed on Tonispin's talk page. Also, the fact that I was able to take screenshots of videos with the precise camera position and that the files have the same inconsistencies described earlier (fewer compression artifacts, smaller file sizes, no EXIF) does not help me believe the files are their own work, which is why I opened a deletion request in the first place. nicolas talkpage★★★ 02:28, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I understand your reasoning. However, my position will remain the same Keep. Kaisen12 (talk) 13:34, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
