This is a file that was made by a commercial weather company. There is no reason given why this should be available under a CC license. The URL given does not lead to a web page that would carry this image. Skopien (talk) 19:58, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Skopien: I took the picture from a personal website of somebody I know at my local club. This is his personal work. I confess I do not know how he did it... --Desman31 (talk) 12:04, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Desman31: but did he also do the map on which this is done? The map as such will be copyrighted. If he did the map himself, then you could file an OTRS ticket with her/his agreement that it is ok to have it uploaded. --Skopien (talk) 12:34, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Skopien: no I think the background map is a scan of a paper map.--Desman31 (talk) 12:43, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Desman31: Maybe you want to redo the image using File:Reliefkarte_Frankreich.png or File:Europe_topography_map.png or a clipping of it as a start? That would be perfectly legal, and it does not seem to be too difficult. --Skopien (talk) 16:34, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Skopien: Ok, thanks for the link, I will look into it. It is always difficult to find proper and free background maps. As for that one, maybe I'am picky but I don't like the drawing of province boundaries, I much prefer to display main cities. About the DIY : such work doesn't look very difficult in a first place but is always time consuming. On my side I am not a GIS user, thus I have to fiddle with Paint or such basic soft. I have planed, a couple of years ago, to learn QGIS but...

PS: sorry, didn't see the second map, looks like much more like what I want :) --Desman31 (talk) 08:19, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
