This file was initially tagged by Berthold Werner as Copyvio (copyvio) and the most recent rationale was: There is copyright in the USA for the used pictures. It seems that Tajikistan is misspelt therefor this could be a fake. Didym (talk) 09:54, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Berthold wasn’t sure and asked before in (German) Commons:Forum. I replied there and repeat it here:
  • The file has a license tag as no copyright as formal document, but the pictures used here are apparently all made from professional photographers in time of Grace Kelly being an actress in the U.S.A., so in my opinion the Tajik legal rules do not matter for Commons, but the copyright in the US.
  • Another user in German Wikipedia (cf. de:Spezial:Diff/172660710/173683543) assumed this must be a fake. On one hand the image seems to show a really perforated paper sheet, and if we look on the first uploaded image version, we can see, it seems to be sticked into an (stamp) album from black cardboard with two of these special glue tapes. But: Searching for the image I found it only once marked as copy from Wikipedia (Stamp Tadjikistan Grace Kelly | Pinterest), not on special sites dedicated to stamps. Speaking of these – perhaps more important is the puzzling clue also mentioned by Berthold/Didym above: The spelling on the image in question is different from other stamps one can find, e.g. in Stampworld: Tajikistan - Postage stamps (1991 - 2017). The spelling in the Grace Kelly file is ТОЧИКИСТОН/TADJIKISTAN, but the first, Cyrillic, is Russian, not Tajik, the transcription is (amongst others) French. Judging from the Stampworld site, truely Tajik stamps started first in the 1990‘s with ТОҶИКИСТОН/TADŽIKISTAN (the latter presumingly transliteration), but the transcription changed later to English TAJIKISTAN (the difference is in the letter Ч vs. Ҷ, or in transcription DJ vs. DŽ/J); this change was some-when before 2000, the year to be said the publication time of the Grace Kelly stamp.
  • Of cource, it must a lucky coincidence, that the uploading user called themselves GraceKelly. There can absolutely not be any relation to the file topic, can it? Update: Of course, it is possible that if it is a fake the user falled into the trap themselves and bought the stamp (fake) being a Grace Kelly fanatic.

Delete Appears to be a fake stamp set that is likely to infringe on the original photographs. Consider also this warning spread by the postal administration of Tajikistan. While it does not explicitely list Grace Kelly, it warns of forged stamps focusing on Hollywood stars. De728631 (talk) 13:09, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Comment I have now started Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Stamps of Tajikistan, 2000 for another set of stamps with the same issue. De728631 (talk) 13:17, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
