The license is in fact CC by-nc-nd (click on image, then on (i) ). Yann (talk) 22:23, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
- This one I would love to keep (as it is one of the most famous rock climbs in history), but impossible to find a proper cc-by version (even though there are lots of non cc-by images of it online taken by amateurs, but none are free?!?!). That is a pity, but it was my mistake to assume that the website I found it on was all cc-by. Aszx5000 (talk) 10:46, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
- As I said on COM:VPC, you could request a change of the license. The author on camptocamp.org may be willing to accept a free license. Yann (talk) 12:28, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
- The picture was taken over a decade ago, and the author's last post on the camptocamp.org site was over 6 years ago I'm afraid. Such a pity that these photos of famous climbs, which have zero commercial value, are rendered useless to us because someone was inconsistent in their licensing. Thanks. - Comment The upload date at the source appears to be 28 October 2013, but this file was uploaded on Wikimedia Commons on 14 July 2013. Is the source displaying the wrong date, or am I missing something here? — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 01:47, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
- Check it again @Red-tailed hawk, the upload (to Commons) date should be 14 July 2023 (just this year). Hope that helps. Aszx5000 (talk) 12:18, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
