- Did you take the photo yourself? If you did, then you, not the Japan Shogi Asociation or Ayumu Matsuo, are the copyright holder and can release the file under a free license. What the JSA website is referring to is Commons:Personality rights and Commons:Photographs of identifiable people, but these things are separate from copyright status. Commons does have Template:Personality rights which can be added to files like this, but since this photo was taken in Japan it might depend on how Commons:Country specific consent requirements#Japan is interpreted with respect to this photo. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:25, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
