Commons:Deletion requests/File:Nutan Hindi Movie Actress (14).jpg
Possible copyright violation. Previously nominated for speedy deletion, but this has been challenged. Image is now claimed to be a still from 1958 Indian film, which would be public domain. Verbcatcher (talk) 18:49, 7 August 2019 (UTC)

There can always be a chance of someone reusing it. Any image which comes in public domain (as in this case) loses its copyright. The still was actually a screenshot from the film which was converted into a jpeg file. After finding a similar image, I indicated that as my source being unaware of how to indicate the source of this file. If required, the source can be changed to something like screenshot from the 1958 film Dilli Ka Thug but then no link can be provided (as in this case, the image opens in a different link). Kindly let me know about the same. Vrishchik (talk) 02:31, 8 August 2019 (UTC)Vrishchik

- I am not an expert on Indian copyright law, but if a film is public domain then we usually assume that any still from the film is also public domain. This is supported by Commons:Screenshots#Audiovisual works. ZI Jony, what is your basis for deletion? Are you saying that there is significant doubt about whether this is a still from Dilli Ka Thug, or are you saying that a still from this film would not be public domain? - This couldn’t publish under public domain unless there is no proper source claim for copyright. It’s copied from a blog. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 19:41, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
