Low resolution, no metadata. From the background you can see its a pic taken on the field before a professional football (soccer) game, when only authorized photographers are allowed. Looks like a clear grab from the internet. Fache (talk) 00:22, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
- I’m not quite sure. Neither Google nor Tineye found the image on the internet; there were other images more probable to be grabbed. On the other hand, your points are correct, too. Neutral --Ireas talk•de•en 19:45, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
- If you watch carefully on the background, the people on the stadium's stands are wearing en:Boca Juniors' t-shirts. The photographed player plays for en:Club Atlético River Plate. Therefore, it is a pic taken on the en:Superclásico, the single most important football game in Argentina. Considering this, there are three posible explanations as for how the alleged author came to have this pic:
- He find it on the internet.
- He is an authorized photographer working for a newspaper, but felt the need of taking a picture of his own to upload on Commons. However, he also felt that his professional camera was not worthy of Wikipedia, therefore took his disposable camera and asked Mr. Vega for a pic.
- He was a fan on the stadium. Suddenly, and with no other apparent reason than taking a picture from Mr. Vega to upload to Commons, he climbed the fence separating the field from the stands, making subsequently a 20-meter jump from the top of the fence on to the field. Despite crippling injuries, he kept on running towards the centre of the field, evading the 900 policemen (more or less) working on the event's security. Finally he reached the players and took his disposable camera, picturing Mr. Vega (not en:Ariel Ortega or en:Diego Buonanotte, only Vega) before being arrested and beaten the crap out by the loving and caring Buenos Aires police force.
- Per en:Occam's razor I'd choose option 1.
- (now seriously, I also can't find the image on the internet, but it can't be other than a copyvio). Fache (talk) 01:39, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
