Don't know what Commons does with things like this. Here is a spoof image (young boy in contemporary dress bottom right) validly copied from Flickr where it is a bit quietly noted as a spoof. But maybe it is a photo of a spoof mural? Anyway it's in use on a couple of wikipedias taking it seriously (he he!). But I could image it as a proper image for an article on spoofs. All the images I found using google image search are just the same. Thincat (talk) 22:52, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have now removed the transclusions in the enwp articles. Thincat (talk) 23:18, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This is not a hoax, the boy is really there. The mural contains people from the modern era. According to this site, The wall mural in this Cardo depicts how the Cardo might have looked in the Byzantine period. The three people pictured in the left-hand corner are the former mayor Teddy Kollek and the two archaeologists who excavated the area. StarryGrandma (talk) 23:22, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
OK thank you for this. So it a genuine photo of a (partially) light-hearted image painted on a wall. I expect it should be kept then. Thincat (talk) 23:26, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it is a photo of an image painted on a wall. More info you can find in File:Old Jerusalem Cardo now and then.jpg or File:Israel Batch 1 (1007).JPG, there are much more of this in use in other projects. This is a photo of a mural that reconstructs the cardo as it may have been seen in the Roman period. -- Geagea (talk) 23:30, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Keep, someonedidn't read the entire picture description. It's an artistic mural. Sir Joseph (talk) 23:44, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I withdraw my nomination It has been explained to me that the mural itself is (in part) a playful spoof and the photograph is entirely genuine. It has been argued that the image therefore has an encyclopedic purpose and so should not be deleted. I agree. I'll explain the situation more clearly in the image description.
