This file was initially tagged by Magog the Ogre as no license. Uploader added {{PD-old-70-1923}} and {{PD-self}} later. As this is a 2D artwork we would need to know the livedates of the author Hedwig Böning to decide if its 70+ years past her death to make PD-old-70 valid. JuTa 19:03, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have searched on Commons and on Google and can find no references to Hedwig Boning. I will continue to look, but what are the chances that he or she was alive in 1944, 39 years on? Less than 50% but that's hardly 0%.

What does the prefix tl mean?

I have to say that Wikipedia seems to do its best to remain a fraternity of the informed, the wise brethren. Every description that I can find, and finding anything isn't easy, seems written for those who already know the secret language.

Are you sure that Hedwig Böning was the artist? I see something written that looks like Hedwig Böning as an inscription on the lower-right, but that may just have been the person who owned the book/magazine.
I'm not sure what confused you. If it's more difficult to work in English, we have a huge number of German speakers on here. If you're confused by the talk about copyright or the wiki markup, by all means ask any questions at COM:HD. They can point you to specific pages on how to start on here. Also, for what it's worth, you might consider looking through the book to find the illustrator. If the illustrator is anonymous, the item is considered public domain in the EU. Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 02:34, 1 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Where did the 1905 date come from? This is a poster that was published by Druck v. A. Bagel, in Düsseldorf. Delphi234 (talk) 22:43, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
