COM:DW, and probably out of scope. Yann (talk) 17:50, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- Comment - You have not specified what is "derivative" about the work. If, as I suspect, you're talking about the photographs on the document that is being punched, you're not reading carefully enough the letter of COM:DW, I suspect. Note two specific exceptions:
- having a subject which is a non-artistic object with utilitarian functions
- being freely licensed
- Nominator should provide more clarification, and until then, this is a "keep". - Thekohser (talk) 18:27, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- Keep – The nomination is probably motivated by the title of the paper being hole-punched in the demonstration. I believe that the nomination of this file for deletion amounts to an attempt at censorship. The demonstration is instructive and thus suites Commons' educational mission. --Michaeldsuarez (talk) 23:09, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- I've removed the Harej photo from Thekohser's image. @Thekohser: If you wish, you may recreate your image using a free image from Category:James_Hare or its subcategories. --Michaeldsuarez (talk) 11:54, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you, Michael. I will consider whether I should re-do this exercise with a free image of James Hare, given that he was personally involved in misrepresenting the openness of Wikimedia DC conferences. - Thekohser (talk) 14:43, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- You're welcome. --Michaeldsuarez (talk) 11:19, 28 October 2015 (UTC)

- OK thanks. Now the derivative work issue is fixed. I am not sure it is in scope, but if someone finds this useful, fine. Yann (talk) 18:05, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
- Seems to me that it is eminently useful, as there is not a single photo on all of Commons of a three-hole punch being used to do what it is intended to do. There are dozens of photos of punch tools, but none actually being used. This one comes close, but it contains the "Swingline" logo on the device, which may be a usage rights problem. - Thekohser (talk) 14:43, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- If one wants an image of "3-hole punching", it would be much better with a blank sheet of paper. It is quite dishonest to present this as "about 3-hole punching", where it is a disguised complain about some Wikimedia D.C. event. Just my 2 Rs. Yann (talk) 16:57, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- So censorship is one of your motivations here and at Commons:Deletion_requests/File:Kohs-MyWikiBiz_VIP.ogg. --Michaeldsuarez (talk) 11:19, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
- Michael, could you stop nonsense, and answer on topic? Yann (talk) 13:32, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
