Nominating based upon COM:VP/C#File:Coat of Arms of Cradiff.png discussion and the recommendation of Clindberg. File's source is given as ngw.nl/heraldrywiki/index.php?title=Cardiff. Source looks like a wiki page of some kind, but at the very bottom is says "© since 1996, Heraldry of the World, Ralf Hartemink". Heraldry of the World:General disclaimer says "Use of the images in Wikipedia is allowed with reference to this site and/or the original source as mentioned on the site." but according to Clinberg there is no evidence of a license for the image. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:20, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The site gives a license for all Dutch arms, so presumably those are done by the site author, but he copies non-Dutch arms (such as this one) from external sources. The copyright then is owned by someone else, and the copyright status needs to be determined individually. It's not completely clear, but the source page seems to say it's from the book Civic heraldry of England and Wales, London, 1932, by C.W. Scott-Giles (died 1982). Not sure if that author was also the illustrator, but in any event, there is no evidence anywhere for a free license.  Delete Carl Lindberg (talk) 16:04, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
