What are author's dates of life? EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:42, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please list them with their dates of life in description. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 16:58, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This should be a good start. Only about 60 more. :) Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 22:02, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's reasonable exercise because at least two authors died less then 70 years ago. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 22:08, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@EugeneZelenko: @Jason Boyd: s:Author:Hilda Mary Hooke died in 1978 and her work will not be PD in Canada until 2028, or 2048 if CUSMA is implemented before then. I have saved the file locally at English Wikisource where it does not violate copyright policy; it can be deleted from Commons. Beleg Tâl (talk) 03:39, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Further to this: Arthur S. Bourinot died 1969 and his work is copyrighted until the beginning of this coming January, and Arthur L. Phelps and Hartley Munro Thomas died 1970 and their works will be copyrighted until the end of next year. All others died before 1969, except possibly John Frushard Waddington whose date of death is not known (but whose copyright would presumably be calculated based on publication date until dates could be ascertained). A complete list is here. Beleg Tâl (talk) 04:12, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

On my experience archive.org could not be trusted on licensing and its content should be always checked like in this case. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 01:41, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per nomination -- under copyright until at least 1/1/2029. .     Jim . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 14:18, 2 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Jameslwoodward: Can you please undelete the file and mark it for migration to English Wikisource please {{PD-US-1923-abroad-delete}}. Users have tried to special:import which won't work so we will need to do this by backend means. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 21:26, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, billinghurst, for asking me. In cases like this, I'm perfectly happy to have a colleague temporarily restore the file. It's easier if you do the restore, because then you will be able to deleted it again promptly. .     Jim . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 14:08, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
