This poster is in public domain in Iran. But because it is a deraitive work and the photo of Pele is likely to have not originate from Iran (not taken by an Iranian photographer), this part may be copyrighted in the United States. HeminKurdistan (talk) 11:04, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

How are you sure that a picture of Pele was not taken by an Iranian photographer?!!
The Pele ad had been done legally in its time during 1970's in Iran and widely distributed, Pele was young and active!
What does this have to do with another country? فرات۱ (talk) 14:45, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@فرات۱ Puma advertisement in 1971: [1]. It means that this picture is very likely to be protected in a country other than Iran (and as a result in the US, Iranian law does not apply to works of non-Iranian photographers or works that were published outside Iran). And please do not use 'cc-by-sa-4.0' as a license for public domain files from Iran and please cite the source you take the files from (you upload almost all files as 'own work'). Thank you. 1-The burden of proof is on the claimant, perhaps you know that!, unless a beneficiary, say a Pele inheritor or the picture taker or his/her inheritor claims the ownership rights, I do not see a valid reason!
2-We are using this file as a reto or historical document, to say, once there was a Bella Shoe, so and so...NOT as a means of advertisement!!There are millions of old ads used in internet and wikipedia as reminders of what had happened in the past, do they need to buy rights?!! فرات۱ (talk) 16:48, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@فرات۱ The one who makes a claim is the uploader. You uploaded this file without providing its source (choosing 'own work' instead), date of publication (3 January 2023 is clearly wrong) and with a wrong license (cc-by-sa-4.0?). I can understand this advertisement was published in Iran more than 30 years ago and it is in public domain inside Iran. But it should be in public domain in the US too to be acceptable. The photograph of Pele was published outside Iran. We know that it was featured on Puma advertisement. Can you prove that Pele's picture is in public domain outside Iran? About the part that you see no valid reason for someone to claim copyright, please see Commons:Project scope/Precautionary principle. HeminKurdistan (talk) 17:48, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am NOT claiming an rights by uploading,as you said! BECAUSE, I am not using this file for advertising purposes! This is a HISTORICAL ARTICLE. The historical fact is : This ad. had been used in Iran in 1970's by a shoe company name Bella to generate a revenue, the article says exact same thing! If you have a problem with that ad. violating the rights of Pele in those days, you need to find the owners of the company and ask them!
Why an advertisement in Iran is not in the public domain in America? It is better that you let me know! فرات۱ (talk) 18:58, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
To make it clear for the last time, this is a derivative work that includes a picture we know was published outside Iran in 1971 (possibly in France, because the text is in French). Even though the whole work is in public domain inside Iran, that picture is assumed to be copyrighted outside Iran unless you can prove the contrary. I don't have to go find the copyright owner to ask them, we have Commons:Project scope/Precautionary principle. HeminKurdistan (talk) 19:41, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You know the copyrights have a duration, right? So, if Pele has sold the copyright of this picture to anyone, he has not done it for eternity! You are the only one who has stuck on this matter and never let it go!! I do not want to have a personal judgement on that, specially, be careful with the name you are using, because yourself might be accused of "conflict of interest"! فرات۱ (talk) 19:11, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
