Small file without EXIF data. Can we trust the source? i.e. I wouldn't trust this as own work, especially for a user with 2 uploads. Yann (talk) 01:57, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
1: This is a public domain image/file. All you have to do is look at the source and it clearly shows this. (That's how public domain images work). The source States such so that way you won't have to go asking someone with a Copyrighted image for permission to use it. Public domain Allows anyone to redristbute a work piece without permission. 2: I never claimed it was "my work". & Uploading two other files has nothing to do with this subject either as to the point. 3: Given that it is in the public domain it requires no evidence other than the source itself (which is the evidence as it should show the public domain attribution in the header somewhere-as this exactly does). 4: I have no idea what you mean by file is small ither. Or without exif data. A public domain image is the least of all types of attribution-based images that require much information about it. Also everything fundamental about the info of this file is there; it might be simple but for a public domain image that is really all that is needed. MORNINGSIDE ( talk)
- Comment This Pixabay account is highly suspicious. It claims to have 8 cameras: [1]. Most images in this account have probably been copied from other sources, some from Commons. Regards, Yann (talk) 02:33, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
Yes and it also has 1049 followers and almost 10,000 likes, so what!? that doesn't mean anything to the type of attribution that this image needs or if it's reliable or not. I've done advanced search on some of his images as well as on this AS50 rifle before I ever even uploaded it (and his account/web page was the only one that featured it; making it obvious that it is his own work) even regardless if some of his other images are not his own, which even if some were is IRREVALENT TO THIS IMAGE WE'RE TALKING ABOUT. This AS-50 image is also partly animated/edited. It is not a full blown 3d object. I also forgot to add that Pixabay is a "public-domain" server/website with intent on allowing general folk to re-distribute their work. People upload and share images there for free-use as that is the purpose of this website. MORNINGSIDE( talk)
- Comment What the fuck.
- Is it just me? https://pixabay.com/en/accuracy-international-as50-872190/ (which offers a 4236×1410 resolution image, but forget that) shows user https://pixabay.com/en/users/WikimediaImages-1185597/. Obviously this account was created to upload photos found on Commons. https://pixabay.com/en/pincushion-tomato-needles-sewing-2202284/ is actually File:Pincushion-Tomato.jpg. https://pixabay.com/en/vga-cable-plug-computer-technology-2202321/ is File:Vga-cable.jpg. Both are public domain. The AS50 image was uploaded to Pixabay on Aug. 4, 2015. So there has probably been a deletion request before that.
- Commons:Deletion requests/File:L115A3 side.jpg is quite possibly that DR or otherwise likely related. - Alexis Jazz 03:19, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
- Not the same image, but also a rifle of the same style. Source mentioned is http://www.accuracyinternational.com/ Yann (talk) 04:53, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
- Delete, higher image is available as shown on Tineye results, and likely already deleted before.--BevinKacon (talk) 21:44, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
