Copyrighted U. S. license plates

[edit]

This is a mass deletion request to all U. S. license plates which are copyrighted in my opinion and not either PD as official works of states publishing their license plates as PD or PD as they don't meet the thresold of originality.

Arizona

Colorado

Conneticut

Georgia

With the above, I'm unsure if the peach is enough for copyright, but I think it is.

Hawaii

[edit]

With those, I'm also unsure if the images in the background meet the threshold of originality.

The following images may also be PD-simple as only a small part of the imags shows something copyrighted.

Washington State

[edit]

Wisconsin

[edit]

These may be PD (de minimis) as the copyrighted part is always only the upper right corner).

Wyoming

[edit]

Here, I'm also unsure, it may be PD-simple, but IMHO the horseman is above the threshold of originality

Photos with license plates of different states

[edit]

Copyrighted license plates of California, Florida, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C. have not been listed here as they have been published as PD by the states (DC's plates are PD by the Federal Government). Also, there's a lot of license plates being PD but having a CC-BY-SA/CC-BY/... tag, they have to be relicensed to PD.

I do fully agree except for File:Newtexasplate.jpg and File:License plates (5110908127).jpg, I think those should also be deleted as in the first one the license plate is not de minimi because the license plate is the main part of the image and the second one shows a lot of copyrighted license plates, they make up together >50% of the image, even if every license plate alone is very small. -- Milad A380 talk? 21:58, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Only two users commented on the case but the page is already unreadable / incomprehensible and unlikely to be base for a reasonable decision. This should end in a procedural keep and files should be renominated in smaller batches / single cases if appropriate. --Krd 23:54, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Of course it will take some time to read this, but I think that it is not unreadable, and that an admin can easily decide what to keep and what to delete with Closeapple and my comment above, so I don't think this DR should be split. -- Milad A380 talk? 17:56, 15 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
