Contributions of User:Crucifixion
[edit]User:Crucifixion has uploaded a number of files. All of his "self made" photographs of the same place have different EXIFs - examples Image:Monkodonja 2.jpg Sony Image:Monkodonja 3.jpg Nikon Image:Monkodonja 7.JPG Olympus. Additionally he has tagged various scans as GFDL for example Image:Gal 21 dyn.jpg, Image:Painting CladosChristiane04.jpg, Image:Psamtik III.jpg and Image:Taoscull.jpg. His uploads cannot be trusted. I would suggest delete them all and ban him. --Megapixie 01:55, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
- I disagree that it's implausible that he owns more than one camera. ;P However, a couple of his images are also straight copies of these (Last-Modified header predates the upload by several months). This and this are tagged as "Source: Internet". This is a blatant derivative work. All that plus the scans tagged as GFDL means AGF time is over. Delete and block as per nom. Lewis Collard! - It was mosty my personal work, which is very useful in the Wikipedia pages, and the fact that I have more than one camera, is not a reason to delite my images. Crucifixion 10:29, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
- At the very least, as already stated, you lifted several images from this page. You also admitted to lifting two other images from the internet (those marked "Source: Internet"). So we have good reason to mistrust your other uploads as well. If you would like to state which of your images are copyright violations and which are not, then maybe Megapixie and I might change our minds. Do bear in mind that scanning a book does not give you the copyright over the resulting scan. Lewis Collard! (talk, contribs, en.wp) 13:08, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
- And what about capturing a screenshot from the documentary recorded from TV? Do you consider that a violation as well? Crucifixion 00:49, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes. That is a derivative work of the documentary. Lewis Collard! (talk, contribs, en.wp) 03:51, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- Note: I've deleted several of these images as obvious copyvios (now that I'm an admin). Still waiting for more consensus on a block. Lewis Collard! (hai thar, wut u doin) 19:43, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- I agree with deletion, but no block (yet). It seems Crucifixion may just have misunderstandings over derivative works and what is allowed here and isn't acting in bad faith. However, if this behavior continues, then a block would be in order. Rocket000 11:59, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
